the players, coaches, and USA basketball should all be ashamed..
However, the Argentina team does have 3 NBA players in their starting 5, and a 4th, out with an injury, was a lotto pick in this year's draft..
Perhaps now the "best" NBA players will take more of an interest in playing in future competitions....
I'll take Kobe/Iverson/Garnett/McGready/Pierce over the team they have now...yes, I know Pierce is on the team now, but he is the best player on the team..Andre Miller might be the most over-rated player in the game today..Reggie Miller is way past his prime...Baron Davis is good....I don't know though, the highlights from tonight's game make it look like they weren't even able to defend back-door cuts...I think I saw 8 or 9 dunks on wide open back-door cuts to the basket from the weak side....nice effort guys, nice coaching Karl...they also shot 59% from the free-throw line...nice
Oh, and Jermaine O'Neal should be thrown off the team, banned from ever playing for the USA again, and suspended at least a few games for the upcoming NBA season....just cause your dunk attempt got punked like a little girl doesn't mean you have to step on someone's back....no class at all...spoiled punk.

i dont think the NBA players get paid for playing international ball
and i watched the game they were just outplayed by Argentina which was 5-0 going into the game
but USA did miss a lot of easy layups
and of course the bad bad bad calls from the ref

Basketball sucks, anymore it reminds me of wrestling, all about flash and personalities and no skill involved.....

The US doesnt take this as seriously as other countries, and Im not just talking about "playing up" for a game versus the US.
These arent the US's best players. However, you can take any NBA team and they would win this international competition. The reason the stars cant get it done is that they dont play together as much. They practice for, what, 2 weeks before the competition? That isnt enough time to get to know each other, which is why any single NBA team would win.

The Dream Team in '92 was the greatest team ever assembled. None of our other teams have been anywhere close...

We didn't exactly put together a great team. Nevertheless, we lost because we were overconfident.
I don't think ANY NBA team would win this tournament..to say that any team is better than this team because they have only been together for a month or so isn't right...
lets not forget that Yugoslavia is better than this Argentina team, with Vlade, Stoyo, etc....

A bunch of lazy, arrogant players have tarnished USA Basketball.
Oh, how I'd love to see Michael, Larry and Magic say that they're publicly ashamed that these goofs get to wear the same uniform as they did in '92.
