Yeah, I noticed him using a q-tip too. My mother came up with that idea when I was renting a lot of games and they would get all buggy when I turned them on. She'd dip a q-tip in a little bit of rubbing alcohol and clean out around the contacts, then let it dry, and it'd work like magic.
