Who wants a computer component from Worst Buy anyway? Those can be bought for a lot cheaper online. Its the big ticket items that people like to buy locally.

It's called rebates. Go look in Hot Deals. Tell me how many BB/CC computer part deals you see. I personally hate rebates but many of the computer components after rebates are far less than their online counterpart prices.

Argh, I would never go for rebates unless they are from microsoft. CC does 110% pricematch and you don't even have to save your reciepts and stuff. Just walk in and they have everything on their system. I got a pricematch on my PS2 without reciepts or any flyers. They stuff is definitly higher quality too.

Best Buy carries crap bottom of the line merchandise. Circuit City at least carries mid-line stuff.

BB blows for quality merch.

bahahahaha.....thats so untrue it's hilarious
Back your statement up. Let's look at home audio. Circuit City carries Onkyo and Harmon Kardon. Best Buy carries...?

I've worked at both places. Circuit City carries higher quality stuff then Best Buy.

Yamaha. Better than both.

That would be incorrect. Some of the Yamaha stuff is good (i.e. the HTR-5590), but it doesn't compare to the top of the line Onkyo receivers that CC sells.

Sorry.

It's a matter of opinion I'm sure.

You've worked for both "low end" audio/video chains - that's fine.

I've grown up listening to high end audio equipment like these and have a discerning ear.

Make of it what you will.

Irving. Last time I went in, they were playing rap, the place was trashy, and there was a bunch of gang bangers roaming around. First time I have been there in a year or so and I was suprised.

Hey wv - which DFW CC are you talking about? (I'm assuming Arlington or Irving)

Nice generalization snob. I believe we were talking about quality between chains, not what I personally own, at least I have actual experience with the products I'm talking about (what BEST BUY carries and what CIRCUIT CITY carries..try to follow the thread for me). For the record my equipment consists of an Onkyo TX-SR800, a pair Axiom Audio M60s, pair of M22s, a VP150, and a Pinnacle Digital Sub 350.

I hope that's up to par for you.

lol, figures. I drove down to Irving for an interview, pretty rough area. Even the "nice" buildings were semi run down and rough looking

uumm staples isn't an electronics store therefore it would NOT be competing with bb, cc, or cusa

staples would be like an office max office depot type thing

CC is hiring like mad if anyone needs a job. They fired about 60% of their sales force a few months ago (no longer commission).

What kind of discounts do CC employees receive?

Why does BB have cuter sales people (young women) than CC which has middle aged men selling you a $99 VCR with $49 performance plan?

CC's discount is cost. As for the latter, it depends on the area I guess :)

Irving is an older town. Been here for along time so many of the building look dilapidated. It's a nice town if you don't live in the south near Grand Prairie. The city council has been spending millions of dollars the past couple of years sprucing up the city. If you drive down-town near the library, it is looking quite nice. We are even getting our own little Riverwalk type of area, with gazebos, benches, and jogger's pathways and without the retail stores. It's actually a nice city to live in.
