Why ? Really, I don't see the need. All it would prove is that the security measures we spent billions on mean jack sh!t. The only other possibility is an inside job, but how likely is that to happen with bush:disgust: .

I think it all boils down to the attitude of the general population and whether they will freak out or not. If there is a major attack the morning of Election Day, or even one before with maybe a threat of another on Election Day, everyone will be too afraid to vote. If everyone is too afraid to go to the polls to cast their votes, you have no election. Terrorists win.

it doesn't even make sense. if the election is postponed, CNN and every other news agency on the planet will report what the new date is. it's not like it will be a big secret where you'll wake up one day and be surprised that the election will take place that morning. the terrorists will have to update their appointment in outlook is all that will happen.

should Congress give a Bush appointee the power to decide when the next presidential election will be held? that's what Ridge is asking for.
