Soccer55, what an amazing post. However, I urge you not to waste your effort on sp33d or lager. Like somebody else said, each team has classy fans and then there are classless fans. Both appear to be on the other side of the spectrum. If sox had won yesterday, we'd be hearing from them until tomorrow.

Poor Sport Fanbois like SPEEDemon and Lager make it hard to ever root for the Red Sox.

Lager hasn't even had the balls to show himself recently.

His team hasn't shown up either, so it's all good. :)

Well said. Just because they act like the way they do, you want to hate the team even more.

Which is why I wouldn't object to seeing the Cubs win a WS.

Cubs fans aren't belligerent goobers like Sox fans.

Maybe you just couldn't see him because he stayed in the dugout massaging Nomar's foot while the rest of the Sox were watching the game.

After smashing his face on the seats last night and getting 7 stitches, Derek Jeter is playing tonight against the Mets.....what a player

The game last night has had to been one of the greatest regular season games i've ever seen in baseball. And that may not be saying much since i've only watched baseball for about 4 years but what Derek Jeter did was one of the greatest plays ever. What you guys have to realize was that had the ball dropped in, at least two runs would have scored. I don't recall the yankees scoring any more runs in the bottom of that inning. Jeter knew very well that he would dive in the stands after that play. But he didn't care. He just recklessly ran and made a wonderful play. Wow. This is why he is the captain of the yankees.

Jeter caught the ball in fair territory near the line in a place where the seats are getting pretty close to the line. Since he couldn't stop his momentum without smashing his lower body (mostly the knees) into a concrete wall, he had to go into the stands. It was an absolutely amazing play.

But, I'll be happy to see Quantrill, Gordon, and Rivera as 1-2-3 in most appearences. Burn them out for the October stretch run and the playoffs.

ROFLMAO!! At least make your pathetic loser excuses somewhat believable. You don't want to see them in any games because:
1) If they're in, the Yanks are winning
2) They're not going to burn themselves out by mowing down the Red Sux 1-2-3 in every inning. Gee, Gordon really messed up tonight. In pitching a perfect 8th he only struck out 2 of the 3 hitter he faced, one actually got the bat on the ball. Too bad the same cannot be said for the 3 *hitters* who flailed futilely against Rivera.
3) Stretch run? Stretch run? That's the funniest thing of all, there's not going to be a stretch run because to have a stretch run there needs to be a team capable of keeping it close. The Sox are a hell of a lot closer to challenging Toronto and Baltimore for division doormat status than they are to challenging the Yankees. What exactly in the Sox record in May and June? Did they even play .500 ball?

Hmmm, interesting as to how the Yankee announcers said the SAME EXACT THING that I was said in the above quote after the Mets swept the Yankees, and Gordon gave up the game tying home run on Saturday.

Glad to see that since the Red Sox left town, the Yankees are 1-5, getting swept by the Mets and losing two of three to the Tigers. They exerted all of their energy on beating the Sox. Meanwhile, there are other teams they need to play besides Boston. Glad to see we tired them out for the rest of the league to feast on. :p

Its too bad the Red Sox couldn't capitalize better on this though. If we had swept the Braves, which is a realistic goal, the Sox would be only 4.5 games back instead of 6.5 games going into tonights game (since the Yankee's lost earlier today).

More of the same regurgitated responses from the fans of NY. Where were you supporting your team in April and May, I can link the thread if you'd like? Many of you claim to be diehard NY fans but couldn't even name 10 Hall of Famers off the top of your head... this was painfully evident in a thread where I challenged alleged NYY fans not to cheat and look it up, but some admitted they only got 7 or 8. That's just an example of how fairweather NYY fans are, and are frauds.

Funny how many disillusioned NYY fans are to think that they won't be seeing Boston in the playoffs... or how disillusioned they are to wildly proclaim "8.5 games!" when deep down they know head to head a sweep at Fenway has about the chances of a pig growing wings and flying to Mars. Deep down they know they have had a cupcake schedule so far, and barely pulled out a lucky sweep with their absent minded shortstop putting his career in jeapardy for a stupid out. Brave? No. Stupid and haphazard? YES.

July 23-25th. NY sweeps at Fenway I will admit NY is the better team. You name 10 HOF NYYs w/out looking it up and you can relish in the fact that you may actually be one of the few real NYY fans. Until then, stfu bandwagoners!! :Q

Looks like couple more to go ?

Boston took 2 out of 3 at Fenway last time meeting. Like I said, NY will never sweep Boston at Fenway this year like Boston did to NY.

ThePresence, update your title to round 4!

Bring it on Yankee biatches! Bosox aren't even pitching Schilling and I'll make a friendly bet that they'll take 2 out of 3! After all, Spankees are Boston's whipping boy this year (7-4 advantage).

I found this recent photograph of Johnny Damon.

I hope the weather holds up, so far so good. It is supposed to pour tonight though. If they are going to cancel the game (day/ night double header tomorrow and tomorrow?s weather forecast is just as bad), I hope they just cancel it and get it over with. I don?t want to end up sitting there for three hours with the game not being played anyway.

Let's go Red Sox... And if there is a rainout, I'll die. I've been looking forward to this series for wayyyy to long.
