Wow look at the Yankee bandwagoners... can you hear the footsteps of people getting in line now? So the Yankees barely pull out an extra inning win, big whoop. Boston hasn't been hitting the ball like they normally do (Varitek King 3 times, Bellhorn 0 for 6), lmao! We're still up 6-4, and last I heard you still haven't swept us in our own house. We mashed your roided up, federally investigated team so bad 2 months ago in the Bronx that not only was Jeter booed in his own house, but so was the whole team. How two faced pathetic NY fans are, such that their fans have been reduced to nothing but a bunch of fairweather fanbois, only to come out of the woodwork when they win.
I'll tell you straight up, sweep Boston at Fenway Park and then talk sht! You still have alot of catching up to NY, mainly 2 games just to break even with us. We'll see what happens when you come to the Green Monster soon. You wildly spout "WE'RE IN FIRST BY 8.5 Games!!". Wow, you beat the loser Orioles 8 out of 9 games, want a cookie? Or how about Tampa Bay 5 of 8 times, or Seattle 4 of 6 times, I knew I left that cupcake schedule somewhere (7 out of NY's next 10 games are against TB and Detroit again)! Yet you're still down to Boston 4-6, and still talking sht when we're not even at the halfway point of the season. Nothing changes, so it seems, except the fact that NY fans are now classless and fairweather (at least in the past you had class). July 23rd - 25th I challenge you to go to Fenway and support your Yankee team, if you have the balls. Oh yeah, one more thing:
BOSTON RED SOX FAN FOR LIFE!! THE STATE OF THE NATION IS STRONGER THAN EVER!
So you make excuses for why Boston got swept in this latest series (poor hitting), yet you gloat about the Red Sox beating the Yankees when the Yanks were suffering from the same problem (poor hitting) in the beginning of the season. How does this make sense? Just for a little evidence to support my claim of Yankee poor hitting, here are the batting averages for Yankee starters at the end of April:
Posada .290
Giambi .235
Cairo .250
Jeter .168
A-Rod .253
Sheffield .288
Matsui .282
Lofton .167
Williams .194
Now you gloat about being up 6-4 in the regular season series so far. That's all well and good, but if the Red Sox don't make the playoffs, then what does it matter? "We beat you in the regular season" can only take you so far. We saw this last year when it took some late inning runs and an extra inning HR in Game 7 of the ALCS for the Yankees to dispatch the Red Sox after beating them in the regular season series 10-9. Additionally, this is probably a very devastating loss for the Red Sox. Not only did they blow a 3-0 lead, but with a 4-3 lead in the 13th and 1 strike away from a win, they give up 2 runs to lose the game. Add to that the fact that even though Nomar decided not to play tonight because he needed to rest his heel, he never moved from his seat on the bench the whole night. Not even when every Red Sox player in the dugout was up on the steps leaning against the fence watching the game in extra innings.....nope, Nomar just sat there on the bench.
This whole Nomar thing is also an example of exactly why the Red Sox are in the position that they're in. You have Derek Jeter hustling from short to catch a ball in shallow left center, diving into the stands, and emerging with the ball in his glove and a face that was all bruised and bloodied from smashing it into the seats. Name one player on that Red Sox team that would do the same thing. Instead, you have Nomar sitting out the game to rest his foot and not bothering to get off the bench to support his teammates. At this point in time, the Red Sox are not playing with any heart and they don't have a guy out there that will step up as a leader and lay it all on the line like Jeter did tonight for the Yankees. Last year, the Red Sox had that, but this year, it has disappeared.
In regards to your comments about Yankee fans booing Jeter and the team in April, here is your answer: Yankees fans EXPECT the team to win and are not afraid to let the team know when they are disappointed in the team's performance. Anything short of a World Series is somewhat of a disappointment. On the flip side, you have demonstrated that it is in fact true that Boston fans are content to see the Red Sox beat the Yankees. So you can go on and rant all you want about how the Yankees didn't sweep the Red Sox at Fenway if it makes you feel better, but the reality is that it won't matter if the Yankees win the AL East and/or make the playoffs.
As far as the schedule goes, you are aware that both TB and Baltimore are in the AL East, so Boston plays them just as much as the Yankees right? Boston has 38 games and the Yankees have 37 games scheduled for playing either TB or Baltimore. So much for that part of the "cupcake schedule". I would also like to point out that TB is only 3.5 games behind Boston and is 3rd in the AL East, so they can't be that bad.
For the record, if I could get my hands on Yanks-Sox tickets at Fenway in July, I would be there sporting my Yankees hat and t-shirt while I cheer on the Yankees.....and I live 6 hours from Boston.

More of the same regurgitated responses from the fans of NY. Where were you supporting your team in April and May, I can link the thread if you'd like? Many of you claim to be diehard NY fans but couldn't even name 10 Hall of Famers off the top of your head... this was painfully evident in a thread where I challenged alleged NYY fans not to cheat and look it up, but some admitted they only got 7 or 8. That's just an example of how fairweather NYY fans are, and are frauds.
Actually, I drove the 4 hours to NY so that I could watch the Yankees beat the Angels on May 13th. Seeing as though the stadium was about half full for a 1:05 start on a Thursday afternoon, I don't think there are any problems with fan support in NY.
The last thing I have to say is this: You challenged Yankees fans to name 10 HoF players without looking them up, now it's your turn. Name 10 HoF players from Boston. I'll even tell you that Boston only has 7 players in the Hall of Fame that played more games with the Red Sox than with any other team while NY has 17 players in the Hall of Fame that played more games with NY than with any other team (according to the official Hall of Fame website).
