Did you enjoy the demos? I thought both of them were just absolutely horrible.
Great concept, horrible execution.

The Carnales mission where I have to drive/run away from Victor. Any tips? I keep getting blown up by the gang.

I used the Mag (the yellow truck you get when you beat the Vice Kings final mission) and victor never even TOUCHED me. His gang bumped me a few times but it's tough/fast enough that it was pretty easy to get away.I just parked the truck aiming straight at the ramp to get back on the highway, and as soon as the cut-scene went away I floored it.
I say just find a really tough car/truck if you haven't beat the vice king's missions yet, and make sure you have at least 3 homies with you to fire at the gang members chasing you.

well every review on it so far says they demo didnt do the game justice..
and i liked the second demo concept but there wasnt much to do.. they are saying there is ALOT more to do in the final game and that not all the bikes are as horrid as the ZX10 was..
ive been surfing pretty much every game board out there at work these days and every person that gets it is in love with it..

I still have a pile of unplayed PS1, PS2 and PC games to work through, so I'm in no hurry for next-gens.
I'm more eager for Blu-ray since I'll be replacing my 9-year-old 4:3 JVC 32" with a widescreen HDTV soon.
And gameplay is more important to me than polygon count, I'm currently playing the Urban Chaos mod for the 1999 game Jagged Alliance 2. Next up is either Freedom Force on the PC or one of the Final Fantasy games on the PS2.

I actually got TDU over the weekend, and I must say, the final game is like 100x better than the demo. The graphics are MMMUUUCCCHHH better than either of the demos. However the control and physics still feel very weird and are pretty crappy for a racing game. However I will defintely give this game some time because the whole idea and aspect of the game is just pretty cool. It's just fun to drive around Hawaii.

Open island driving. You can tool around the island and particpate in online races or single-player races. Completely different setup from previous racing games.
