Official Xbox 360? Thread...

Problem is that there will be no HDMI support, so MS is taking a huge gamble that the software providers won't be turning AACS on sometime in the future.

Madden stills mean absolutely NOTHING. 06 looked spectacular in non motion. But the game itself had a pretty crappy framerate and tearing as well, and the collission detection was bad. And NCAA 2007 was even worse, so I dunno.

I just have 0 faith in EA now a days.

Ok, so when they say "cheapest HD-DVD player on the market" is that taking into consideration the cost of the 360 or is this just BS marketing speak? Because the HD-DVD add-on doesn't work without the 360 so the cost of the 360 should be included in the total cost of getting a HD-DVD player.

The Toshiba HD-DVD player goes for around $500 and less. That means the HD-DVD add-on shouldn't be anymore than $99 if you include the cost of the 360. I'm afraid they are BSing us and it is going to be more like $150 - $200 for the add-on.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. If the Toshiba player (or some other manufacturer) is $400 and I can get an HD add on for my 360 (sunk cost, I already own it so I will not factor in its original price) for $200 then to me that is my cheapest HD-DVD 'option'. This will obviously not be the case for someone who does not yet own a 360 but I would much rather CHOOSE to buy an HD add on than be forced to buy the HD drive when I bought the 360 (a la PS3).

Ridiculous for both of them. The madden stills look good, though I won't believe it till i see full motion on my tv. Did you see Nash lick his fingers on the way upcourt in the first 2k7 video? I love that kind of attention to detail.

It is rumored that the movie publishers won't be turning on ICT until sometime after 2010...possibly as late as 2012. If that's the case, the lack of HDMI for the 360 is a non-issue.

Battlestar Galactica Special Coming to Live
The third season of Battlestar Galactica is premiering in October, and the Sci-Fi channel is pulling out all the stops to promote it. It has put together a television special, titled Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far, summing up the key events of the Battlestar Galactica mini series and its first two seasons. The special will air on all the cable stations owned by Sci-Fi parent NBC Universal, which includes Bravo and USA, as well as the West Coast affiliates of the NBC broadcast TV network.

NBC Universal will also be targeting gamers with its PR offensive by releasing The Story So Far on Xbox Live Marketplace in its entirety. Though both seasons of Battlestar Galactica are already available on iTunes, the special will be the "first longform program ever to be offered" on Xbox Live.

While exciting for fans of the show with Xbox 360s, the announcement was short on information about the The Story So Far on Xbox Live. No date was given for the release of the program, nor was its size revealed. In addition, no price was mentioned for the program, though given its promotional nature, it is presumably free.

Won't be an issue is an understatement. How many people like myself are out there who bought early HDTVs that only have component inputs. This unit is awesome in my case. I think they might sell more units just because of that.....

Is there only like a handfull of Xbox360 games? Its been out almost 10 months and very limited amount of games. I been buying used Xbox games for now.

Just under 50 retail games out now.
I think 26 XBLA games.

It is just the summer months. Summer is always a 'dry season' when it comes to new games. There's going to be a bunch coming out leading up to Christmas...something like another 50.

I've been buying used Xbox 360 games on eBay for between $18-$25. So far, I've accumulated:

Fight Night Round 3
Top Spin 2
Tomb Raider Legend
Project Gotham Racing 3
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

But I want next gen games. My roommate already has an original Xbox and a crapload of games.

Heh man playing ranked matches in SF2 is almost a joke now. A lot of people quit out as you are going to beat em, and I noticed the lower the rank, the more people that do that. Howver I just beat the rank 50 guy (he is good too) and boosted my rank up to 415. I'm like 49 - 32. Anyone wanna play send me a message ... purbeast is my GT, make sure you say you are from ATOT or else I may reject friend request.

I've been trying to put myself up to the 50% mark on my rated matches for SF2. It's fun learning how to get around people who play cheaply.
