First time I play on XBL I get owned in ping pong by this guy named 'purbeast'. I will become a master!

Do you play NCAA by chance?

BTW, if anyone wants to play some Table Tennis or NCAA football my gamertag is Glamdring269.

I figured I'd post that here incase someone is out of warranty and their 360 takes a dive. I expect I may have to do this at some point lol.

Crazy! Luckily my console is still on warranty and I'm picking up the extended warranty once I get my replacement. I got those exact same freezing/video problems from those pics. EXACTLY like that but no red rings of doom. No way I'm opening my 360 but its something to try if you are out of warranty (assuming you know your way around the innards).

It was pretty funny that my local UPS guy immediately knew what was in my box when I sent it out and said, "Man..I'm getting these xbox's left and right!" I should have asked him how many he gets in a given week.

Yah I had those same exact freeze screens as well, and then I started getting the red rings. Luckily at that time my 360 was still in warranty (literally 5 days left after MS extended it) so I received a new one.

But since my new one is out of warranty I have screwed around with it and opened it. It's pretty simple to open up the case of the 360. It just looks tricky since there are no visible screws on the outside.

I want to swing by Best Buy to pick up one of their MS Points cards with the $5 off coupon. I'm just to lazy to do that though. :) I'm working from home today so it is an unnecessary trip. I may just add the points online.

I might look you up tonight if you are on. Been playing NCAA 07 all week.

I can't wait for SF2. Lately it seems like i've spent a lot more time playing the XBL arcade games than anything. Been playing a heck of a lot of uno :)

Any idea if I should send in my 360 for repair? It's frozen twice on me, both times in GRAW. No artifacts, just a hard freeze. No red lights on the ring either. A simple reboot fixes it. I'm thinking I won't, because it's going to take forever, but should I risk it? My warranty ends @ the end of the month.

I would say no. Mine froze a few times in GRAW as well, I think it is a software problem and not a hardware problem. It never froze in any other game except that game. Well actually, it has froze in Oblivion too, but that for sure was a software problem because in some spots in Oblivion everyone's 360 freezes.

BTW, according to this article a Splinter Cell MultiPlayer demo will be up between now and September. Man, I hope so!

Okay, great...that's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Thanks!

Do any of you know which of the arcade games actually get some action in online play? I know a lot of them have the options available but I don't want to spend the points if people don't really play them.

I plan to get Uno and probably Spades for online (assuming people play online) but G. Wars and Galaga will probably get my money as well. I'm definately buying SF tomorrow.

I also had my xbox freeze up a lot while playing oblivion and occasionally graw, but not really anytime other than that.

I only have uno at this point. I was thinking about Bankshot Billiards, but it costs wayyyy too many points. I think it's around 1200 while uno only costs 400.

Other than that I can't help much.

Uno always has people online it seems. The card games probably have the highest female participation of any Live-enabled game. :)

Marble Blast Ultra and Cloning Clyde are good too.

I think the only ones that I've really had problems finding people to play with are the retro games like Gauntlet, Joust, and Frogger.

Is it midnight that they roll out the XBLA games?
It has been the past month. Microsoft started a Wednesday rollout of new Live Arcade games, although I'm not sure how long it's supposed to last. I've heard that it will continue throughout 2006 till the end of the year, but that's a crapload of games we haven't heard about yet, so take that with a grain of salt.

Remember that SF2 will be released at midnight, Pacific Time, so to you east coaster's, don't be sitting at your 360 at midnight, otherwise you've got 3 more hours to wait.

Uno and Geo Wars are by far the best two games on the 360, period :).

Oh I forgot all about Gauntlet and Joust. I do want both of those as well. As for the card games... I just wish they would add Rook to the fold. To me it is superior to Spades simply because it is Spades with a twist. The 'spade' variety just makes it more interesting imho.

I find Saints Row kind of fun, but it really is a ridiculously blatant ripoff of the GTA games. It's hard to give them much credit considering that it is essentially the exact same thing, but with worse handling on the cars (something I always thought was an underappreciated element of the GTA series).

I just played the demo, and I couldn't agree more. It's an absolute knock-off of GTA, only with better graphics, and a couple of minor tweaks to make it different. Everything from the glowing circle/halos to invoke missions to how you jack a car, it's all the exact same. It's fun, though, and besides the blatant rip, the online modes seem fun as hell, and should provide a nice GTA fix until GTA4 hits late next year.

no SF2 as of now and it's about 12:50 EST. I think it's gonna come out 3AM my time, I'll have to wait till I get up tomorrow or after work.

ANyways I have a question that I just have no clue the answer to ...

Why is it that EVERY SINGLE xbox360 game has noticeable tearing in the graphics, yet I can't think of 1 single xbox1 game that had noticeable tearing? Is it just very lazy and crappy programming? It is really starting to just piss me off when I see it in every new game and every trailer I watch.
