Which blocking method are you guys having the most success with thus far in FNR3?
I prefer to use the standard method... Although I haven't tried the Philly Shell style yet.

FYI - The Ninety Nine Nights demo is supposed to be hitting the Japanese Marketplace on March 1st. You can get it though by setting up a Silver Xbox Live account that says you are from the Japan region.

Yea just picked up on this. Here is a link to the how-to-do (use at your own risk 😀 ) ;

Circumvent The Xbox Live Demo Download Region Lockout

Hearing people were able to download some of their available downloads already, Dynasty Warriors trailer for one.

Wouldn?t be surprised if we see some update to deal with this from MS real soon.

Battlefield: Modern Combat delayed
The release date for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, on the Xbox 360, has been pushed back from March to April this year.

The following information was just released by Digital Illusions CE (DICE):

The launch of Digital Illusions? game Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 will be in April 2006. The game?s versions for Playstation 2 and Xbox were launched in November 2005.

Oh well. March is already loaded with 360 releases. I have a feeling that BF:MC would have been lost in the shuffle somewhat.

Unless they made it more similar to the PC version than the previous BF2MC were, I doubt this is going to be a real system-seller anyways. If Square Enix re-released older (8-bit, 16-bit) Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy game for $5 a piece on Live Arcade, now THAT would be a system-seller.

Two questions:
1. What are the big Xbox 360 sites, in terms of news and community? I gotta get more people on my friends list...
2. Is anything going on with backwards-compat? I vaguely recall reading that, starting in March, they were going to get back on the ball with regards to that. I really, really want to play Morrowind and DOA:U.

I'm sure you know about all the usual suspects such as IGN, Gamespot, 1up, etc.
  • TeamXbox is my favorite site. They have a pretty good set of forums.
  • Major Nelson's blog is the best place to get up-to-the-second information on Live news (and Marketplace content updates). He is the Xbox Live Director of Programming at MS.
  • Xboxyde is the best place to get images and movies.
  • Achieve360Points has a lot of info on achievements and people post advice on how to get them.
  • And of course, there's always the forums at Xbox.com... But they are pretty much full of whiney children.
As for backwards compatibility updates, there is no new news. As you said, there is an update coming in March, but nothing more has been said.

Those are regular reading for me as well. I would also add:
- Joystiq.com - Gaming blog that does do a good bit of 360 news. Same with Kotaku.com and even Xbox360Fanboy.com.
- Xbox Scene - Mostly about hacking the Xbox but a good place for news and forums.
- GameFAQS.com is good for specific game discussions and help.
- Xbox365.com is ok but they don't update the news very much while the forums are sometimes just weird.

That's weird that GRAW is pushed back 2 days. Why? Maybe so all stores can sell it same day? I ask this because wal-mart already got their shipment but are not allowed to sell it before the street date. I read it over at another game site, and the guy was able to get a copy today (who worked there), and his gamer tag even showed the icon......

see my above post..

That guy is either a tester or developer, thus it would be there job. Anyhow for a developer or tester I'm sure four days is plenty of time to knock it out as there are ways for them to make things easier, ya know. Also they could have been specifically testing to make sure the achievements work correctly.
