Does anyone have any idea when they'll release the GH1 songs for GH2 on Live? I've been waiting for them.

We've been teased about the possibility of them as well as other stuff like 80s songs....but nothing official yet.

That's unfortunate. I've found that they were supposed to have 12 songs available at launch but that obviously didn't happen. I've also heard that the GH1 songs should be available within a week of launch (by today) but that doesn't seem to be the case either.

I just made a sale on an old cell phone. Maybe I'll pick up GHII now like I've been wanting. I've seen which model guitars seem to be crappy, but am I best served waiting the whole thing out, or am I 100% good to go on other model numbers with no worrying?

If I remember correctly (and I haven't played it in a while), when it says x2 or x4 points, you're already getting them. As you get more and more notes correctly without messing up, you points multiplier gets higher, netting you more points as you continue to play perfect.

Not sure if this has been posted above, but here is a link to an easy fix for those with the whammy bar problems:

http://www.allaboutthegames.net/feature_story.php?article_id=7714

As for the two affected models, ***55 and ***65, are the only problems with the whammy bar? It seems like I read somewhere about issues with the buttons and the mechanics to trigger the star power (or whatever it's called) when you pull the guitar into the air, maybe in this thread.

Those are the only ones that Red Octane has specified. They're also the ones constantly mentioned in various posts around gaming sites. I haven't read of another model number that gave problems....yet.

wowzers..that Shrek the Third demo was hideous. Awful all around with tons of slowdown. Of course I didn't expect anyone here to waste their time with it but I figured what the hell and decided to try it for a good laugh. whooops.

I have a version ***65 and I don't have any problems. I'm hoping it stays that way because I don't want to have to send it back to Red Octane.

Those GHII packs are ridiculously expensive. That's over $2 per song. Someone in another forum mentioned that if they released each and every song that was on the first GH, and sold each track at this price, it'd cost over $90 for all of them.

DLC is a grand idea, but this is one of those times when it's taken too far and is a big rip-off.

I agree that it is too much. DDR songs are cheaper than that.

I edited that out. :p I accidentally counted two songs per pack instead of three.

Someone at Microsoft, Activision, Red Octane or the record labels is doing Bogart's gold dance in The Treasure of Sierra Madre.

Why does it seem like everything comes in a multi-pack just to get you to pay for something you don't want? There's two, maybe three songs total from that list that I'd buy, coincidentally they're not in the same pack. Oh well, looks like I won't be spending anything on these.

Using the pricing of the track packs, GHII is a steal. The value of the 72 songs is $150!! The game only costs $80 and you get a guitar with it.

I need to go post this in the Hot Deals forum. ;)
