Shaddang!! We have a record breaker! (for the X1900 anyway 😀)
Congrats mate. Looks like Joker has catching up to do.
I'd say his CPU speed was letting him down.

Dont go crazy on the Oc'ing however.

I have a feeling some people are going to be left with broken parts 😛

Elfear, did you use ATi Tool or ATi OC to get the 872 memory? Viper John was telling me that ATi OC loosens the memory timings quite a bit and gives you less performance despite the higher clock.

Heh I can push my dual core to 2.8 GHz but it takes 1.5v and I'm not comfortable pumping that much voltage into my CPU since I haven't properly burned it in yet. 😉

I've gotten my XTX to 762/963 w/stock cooler using overclocker to clock the XTX. Can't seem to get ATI Tool to work at all without locking my system up.
3DMark05 is 13,237
VGPU 1.400-- MVDDC 2.184 -- MVDDQ 2.135-- VDDCI 1.486

Dear Lord....

Another record breaker.
This is ridiculous!

Over 13k, wholey moley! That's higher then the upcoming 7900 GTX is rumoured to get!
How in the hell did you manage those speeds with the stock cooler?
How much did you change the voltage on the card?
I dont know the stock voltages see.

You must have one golden super mature sample cherry picked card right there.

Hello nib 95,
Default voltages are: VGPU 1.175-- MVDDC 2.086 -- MVDDQ 2.086-- VDDCI 1.486
It's a great clocker, got lucky with this one I guess. ATI brand.
Some people claim that overclocker relaxes timings a good bit so therefore allowing the clocks to look a little out of sight.

Not quite at 13k yet like gjwild and I doubt I'll get there since I'm not willing to pump 1.7v into my CPU heh.
BTW gjwild, if you use ATi OC alone for OC it loosens the timing on the ram. Try doing it with ATi Tool and you will probably score even higher even if your max OC is lower.
I would love to be able to use ATI Tool but it is locking my system.
Actual voltage on the CPU is 1.575.

It crashes out in 3dmark05 during the 3rd test so that max OC isn't quite stable yet 🙁 I'm working on it though. The highest I can get 3dmark05 stable at is 780/840 for now but oddly enough, my 3dmark05 score doesn't go up much. I'm guessing I'm severely CPU limited but I'll know more when I get my X2 4400+. I never OC'd the card on air but if you visit the xtremesystems.org forums, there are plenty of XT and XTX owners that have OC'd quite far using air cooling.

Wow, nice.
I dont think 3dMark05 is very CPU limited though, not as much as 3dMark06 anyway.
What score did you get for curiosity's sake?

Also, do you know if the OC limit of the XTX's is much more then the XT's?
If so, by how much?

when your scoring up to and past 8-9K in 05 it is definately CPU limited. i experience more than 1200 points boost just by overclocking my cpu

Nice rig you got there Elfear, that 165@2.8GHz w/1900 is sweet.🙂

Do you have XT or XTX? Sig says XT but your thread says XTX...

I had both and decided to stick with the XT since I found it for $165 cheaper than the XTX. Couldn't justify the small oc gain for that much money.

God... you people doing this on air, is the paint on the wall behind your computer case starting to blister yet? I picked up an xt, and the heat coming out of the card's exhaust port while running quake 4 is crazy.

What's even crazier, Arctic Cooling's aftermarket piece for this card (pic) exhausts the heat to the INSIDE of your case. They've got to be kidding...

Personally I think a nice lapped copper heatsink + 120 mm fan strapped on it is much better than Arctic Cooling if you're gonna use air. Although I don't understand why people that spend so much money on high end hardware don't opt for water cooling. If it is intimidating to build your own they have all these easy pre-made kits that do an excellent job.
