Here we go again. First, the White Sox fans, then the Red Sox fans, now the Phillies fans. Bring it on.

What position do you play? ;)

I'm referring to the "fans" comment by other so called fans. I want to ask them if they would purchase 20 game ticket plans for 6 years straight for a team whose definition of success was when they didn't have 100 losses.
If you love baseball, which I think most of the people in this thread can attest to, then they probably would. Hell I went to about 8 National games just because they're the closest stadium. Nothing better than going to the ballpark IMO, always better when the home team is stacked but meh.

Some people don't understand the sport fan environment in the Tampabay area because of all the transplants from "traditional" sports towns. These so called fans only show up when their teams are in town. They don't wish to give up their old teams and start new team traditions with their kids so when the local teams are losers it doesn't help these bandwagons switch.

Hey OP. Can you add a poll for people to choose Phillies or Rays? Also, add one for how games it'll last. Thanks.

Back to the topic at hand. I hope Kazmir is more like late Game 5 Kaz than Game 2 Kaz. Especially if Hamels is like he was earlier in the playoffs.

And it'll be nice for it to be on Fox instead of TBS. No more Sager in HD.

Here's to hoping it goes five games so we get three insane parties at Ferg's.

Again, not a sports fan, just a beer fan.

Free Taco if someone steals a base! lol I never had Taco Bell but I may just go for one..so..steal a base dammit.

Hopefully this series goes 7 games. I'm not rooting for any of the teams but I'll root for an entertaining series.

no shit. I remember that commercial. how does this work? you just go into taco bell tell them who stole the base?

is it 1 taco per SB? b/c that would be so rad with Crawford/Rollins/Utley in the WS. You could feed a family of 4 every night :)

OK, I found it. It's just one free taco per person in America b/w 2pm and 6pm on the official redemption day if at least one base is stolen during the duration of the series...lame.

Someone should tell them that we're not watching The West Wing... That theme song is annoying already.

This one is for my buddy Ray Windfelder, who died this morning at the age of 57 after a loooong illness.

He was in a nursing home in Doylestown for the last two years, and a more passionate and deeply knowledgable Phillies fan you will never meet.

If I was home watching the game, he and I would phone each other and hoot and holler like mad bozos!

Ray was brilliant. There is no other word for it, and his erudition, his learning was world class. He knew and could quote from the entire canon of Shakespeare, and going to a museum with him was like getting a personal tour with the head curator.

He was a poet and an artist, and though I know a large number of pretty good artists, it was Ray whom I finally turned to paint my late wife Jessie, because I knew that he stood the best chance of capturing her soul on canvas, and he did.

This one is for you, Ray.
