Good or bad, I'm glad Manny Ramirez isn't going to get a WS share.

Don't take this the wrong way, but what's the usual timeframe before RSN forgives a player after leaving? E.g. Clemens, Boggs, Nomah, Damon, etc. I realize he just left and the situation was about as bad as it could get. However, he did help in winning the World Series.

it depends on why they left really, if the Sox trade someone away or simply opt to not resign them then they forgivness happens pretty quick

for people like Damon who was quoted more then once saying "its not about the money" and then going to NY for THE MONEY, will prob never be forgiven

The brilliant reporter on the radio was talking about the upcoming World Series between the Rays and the Red Sox.

Nobody dislikes Nomah in RSN (he's not a bad person, went to a different league and never went to NYY). Boggs has retired, so for the most part people in RSN like him again. Damon falls under that same rule, esp since he was part of the 2004 team. So Damon: until retirement since he's not a horrible guy, just greedy. Clemens, however, will never be forgiven because he's a scumbag of a person AND he defected to NY AND he won a ring with them.

Manny will take about 3 seasons, or at worst retirement.

Based on how Manny left(quitting on the team) and how he could helped the Sox beat TB and the win another WS, I don't think he'll ever be forgiven.

No, the Rays won the ALCS, not the World Series.

For the most part, everyone still ikes Nomar....

He really did not leave on his own...he just got a little bitter towards management (if you were the top player on your team...actually, he was the face of the organization at the time... and you were in trade talks for a person at the same position, you would be bitter too). That, and he felt kind of left out that he was offered a 15 mil for 3 year deal when the other 2 SS got an even bigger deal.

Hardly.

He is saying that they already played the World Series, and won on Sunday. They played the ALCS and won on Sunday. There is no humor here, period. It's like saying the Dodgers lost the World Series to the Phillies....again....incorrect and not funny.

Nomar was offered a 4 year deal @ 60 mil. and turned it down in early 2004. Damon was offered a fair 3 year deal by the Sox but his agent knew the Yankees would overpay and they did. Clemens was offered a subpar deal and he refused and went to free agency. That's when the famous "enjoy the twilight of your career " comment was made by then Sox GM Dan Doquette. Since Clemens turned into a total money whore and lied about steroids he fell out of favor with everyone. Manny wanted an extension for 4 years @ 25 mil/year from the Sox who had 2 option years after this season @ 20/mil. year. He then hired the prince of fucking darkness, aka Scott Boras who told Manny the Sox just keep blowing me off, just turn yourself into a poison pill and they will HAVE to trade you. Of course Scott stood to make no money if the Sox picked up Manny's option years because he was not Manny's agent when that contract was signed, but if/when Manny signs a new deal he gets his hefty cut. Scott Boras is the sleaziest POS in all of sports and should be banned for life IMO..

I'm so glad they pulled it off.

I'm happy for the team, they deserve it, but the 'fans' piss me off. They didn't support the team all season... They don't deserve it

this. GO PHILLIES!

No, I think everyone got the point (including you). You just didn't find it funny, which is fine as well.

Here we go again. First, the White Sox fans, then the Red Sox fans, now the Phillies fans. Bring it on.

I'm referring to the "fans" comment by other so called fans. I want to ask them if they would purchase 20 game ticket plans for 6 years straight for a team whose definition of success was when they didn't have 100 losses.

If you love baseball, which I think most of the people in this thread can attest to, then they probably would. Hell I went to about 8 National games just because they're the closest stadium. Nothing better than going to the ballpark IMO, always better when the home team is stacked but meh.

Sure. To watch some of the good young players but also to watch some of the other team's players.

Heck, there are Red Sox fans that went to more of the Ray games at the Trop to watch the Sox then the average Ray fan.
