If they play to their potential, I count them among my favorites to win this year. It's always a toss-up with them though--some years they play like a cohesive unit, other years they play like 11 superstars all out doing their own thing.

As far as the "Group of Death" debate goes, it is a toss-up between Group C and E in my opinion. Most people think Holland and Argentina will cruise through to the second round in Group C, but the other two teams are both very scrappy. Furthermore, Ivory Coast has 3 top players in the Premier League - Drogba, Eboue and Toure. Anything can happen in this group.

Group E is the leading candidate for the "Group of Death" moniker in most people's minds because 3 top ten FIFA ranked teams are in the group. However, FIFA Rankings are about as realistic as telling a black jewish immigrant girl she can grow up to be president...

here is to mexico doing good this year. hopefully they stay focused and don't get too ahead of themselves, and too confident. and hopefully they play brazil in the semi-finals.......cuz brazil is best at championship games, i truly belive they can beat brazil in any game other than the final match. also the teams from africa really give them trouble, because of the sprinting speed and size (mexico historically has been small dudes 5'6 and that is tall) but his time we have rafa marques, salcido, bourgetti, oswaldo sanches, masa, guardado, all around 6'0". a first for mexico. also it's a really young team, except for claudio saurez (his 3rd world cup).
