after reviewing it on that split screen, if it is accurate then i dont believe the runner tagged up early. japan should be up 4-3.

being a baseball fan, you have to factor in human error (bad calls) as part of natural game play. Tie game 3-3.

depends on what angle you look at, maybe he didnt maybe he did - thats the thing with baseball, theres no replay, whatever is called goes.

...which is exactly why the call shouldn't have been overturned. the ump should not reverse a call unless there's definitive evidence.

yea, as a fan and student of the game for many years you have to expect it. im more disappointed in the fact that the play was originally appealed and the third base umpire said the runner tagged properly. then seconds before the next pitch is thrown the overturn occurs.

edit: and a lot of calls in this game have been a little suspect. the umpire is not having a consistent strike zone (peavy hitting pitches and getting balls called where the japanese pitcher was getting the strikes in the exact same location).

it ends up screwing up both sides equally, its baseball, no replay rules.

exactly, how the hell can they just overturn a call just because Bucky walked up to the umpires and bitched for a while.

so the replay showed that he did NOT leave early?
If it was NFL replay rules, it was too close to reverse.

that comment was as useless as ur GWB quote 😛
Do you realize an ump reversed the call after the players' appeal at 3rd base was denied? Your previous remark suggests you don't.

Damn fine game! Bases loaded for Japan!

edit: Strikeout! Now the US has a chance to win in the bottom of the 9th.

heh, japan got snubbed. Refs are being retarded there. He CLEARLY ran AFTER the catch.

they said they reversed it becasue the wrong ref made the call. the home plate ump was sopposed to make it and he didnt. wich is kinda silly.

the final call is the ultimate call.

infield single by randy winn. runners on first and second and no outs! sacrifice the runners to 2nd and the 3rd and take away the double play!
