Man, I feel bad for Carson Palmer -- one of my favorite QB and I was actually rooting for the guy, fluke injury, that sucks.

I'm glad the Lions don't have to deal with him this week, so I think we're going to win, but it won't be easy. Stanton played well in his [Palmer's] absence this year, but he didn't get the huge contract for a reason...a backup's a backup.

Go Lions.

On a side note, I think Caldwell was underestimated as a coach by someone named *cough* IndyColtsFan *coughs*.

I wonder how much Palmer's injury is going to open up the wildcard race. I don't think they will continue their hot streak as well. I think they still win the division, but will take more losses. Seattle is starting to get on a roll.

And wtf is up with the NFC South this year? Must there always be on NFC division full of awfulness? At least, it isn't the NFC East, right?

I think Detroit will beat Arizona this week. A new QB and with how Detroit is playing, I just don't see the Cards beating that defense.

Also, can we get rudeguy back in here making threads. Those are at least moderately funny. These are terrible.

Seattle is starting to get on a roll.

I don't know if beating Carolina, Oakland, and the Giants is much evidence of a roll... :whiste:

I was going to enjoy seeing them play AZ soon but with Palmer out I'm not expecting it to be as good. Damn shame really... AZ really seemed to be shaping up to be the surprise of the year.

I have family that live in AZ, and according to them since I don't get Cards games, they've been getting somewhat lucky in the turnover game.

I did see that TD by Brown, but it was clearly due to blown coverage.

I personally don't think Stanton is good, but the system is working for him. Kind of reminds me of Matt Cassell playing in place of Brady when he got his knee blown out, when to KC, sucked really, and was not good in Mnni.

I think Stanton will do okay, as the system is set up pretty well. A lot of their wins I wouldn't call so much luck. I mean, they beat the Cowboys who played without Romo and had virtually no offense. Weeden didn't complete a pass to a WR until garbage time, for instance. I think without Palmer helping them out, and he had been playing pretty well, they won't continue for long with just one loss.

The Lions have the talent to win in spite of Caldwell, not because of him - similar to the Colts.

The Lions were 6-2 roughly this time last year IIRC. They're 7-2 this year with an additional game. I wouldn't crown Caldwell yet -- he might be an improvement over Schwartz (who was a moron), but you'll see the Lions plateau quickly. As I said when he was hired, Caldwell would instill discipline in the team and they might improve because of that, but he won't win Super Bowls for you.

Caldwell is a decent general and he did get guys to play hard. Sometimes its just that simple. Detroit had so many systemic problems that just getting a guy in who gets the players in a position to make plays is enough. Last few years Lions were undisciplined and missed easy tackles and made stupid mistakes all day long. Now they make the teams across from them beat them and have a great defensive line.

One thing this season has taught us is elite line play will win the game most of the time. Cowboys are gonna beat the teams with inferior line play all season long until their line cant handle the blizt like we saw.

Line up and play good disciplined ball right now goes a long way.

I think we both know this is just exaggerated. We see how they were under Gym Shorts -- bad, except for one lucky year (2011).

The affect can be seen in how this team plays when the deck is staked against them. They don't panic in tough situations like they did. The coach IS the difference, dude.

You'll just have to watch the team to see.

I'm not crowning him, just saying that this team isn't the same as with Gym Shorts.

We'll see after Week 12. I expect to lose the NE game in NE. It looks like we will win this week, probably lose to NE, beat the Bears at least once (if not both times) and lose to GB. We should have 11 wins this year, but I'm still suspect of this team, personally.

As I said when he was hired, Caldwell would install discipline in the team and they might improve because of that, but he won't win Super Bowls for you.

We'll see.

Both RR and IFC are right on this one. Sometimes just playing disciplined is good enough when you have the most talented defensive line in the conference. Suh is playing like a monster again and the way he handled Pouncey that first play and destroyed Tannehills confidence right away was game changing.

If the bears dont throw a ton of money at him at the end of the year they are stupid. That guy makes everyone on that line great. Best defensive player in the league along with Watt.

Agree. Palmer was a BIG loss, and I don't think we'll see a repeat of Stanton's last 3 games because he now has pressure on him.

Lets be honest, you play loose and confident when you aren't being relied upon to win it all like Stanton isn't, but now he is.

Perhaps this will be a test for him knowing that he's the guy now.

at least stanton lookslike hes progressing and slowing the game down. still makes some rookie mistakes but his agression mistakes I have less problems with. That team needs to push down field and if he throws a pick or two deep its like a punt anyways.

RG is referenced in the titles because he is on vacation. The reason they don't seem funny to you is because you are clueless. For those of you who don't like the titles, I have prepared a statement:

Fuck you. If you have any questions you can direct them to that brick wall over there.

PS: If you still don't like the titles feel free to make the threads yourself.

Agree.

Suh may want Gerald McCoy type money. I don't know the Lion's cap situation, but they'll have a ton a cash tied up with Megatron, Stafford, and Suh...someone is gonna have to take less, perhaps, or get traded.

One idiot in the Detroit media actually suggested moving Calvin -- dude ought to be shot. If they're gonna trade their best player, you may as well let Suh walk.

That almost like suggesting a trade of Jerry Rice is his prime, to sign a dominate DT back then.
