You missed where I addressed that. I don't actually agree with Sayers either, although, he broke some NFL records and TD didn't.

And, if you look at that list, can you not find 7 names more deserving than TD? This isn't exactly a weak class of the HOF.

Plenty of people "look" okay from the outside that commit suicide. People don't have "a reason" to be depressed in most cases except for some chemical imbalance in their brain. It has nothing to do with financial status, career, any things otherwise.

However, with regard to CTE, depression, suicide, it's probably very hard to say for sure, thought it may become much clearer with more data. Of course there are many factors that can contribute to depression that are unrelated to specific traumas that someone might also have, but we pretty much know that these type of injuries have caused some shocking behavior in people later in life, that had not previously manifested.

I understand perfectly well. I also understand that simply sustaining these types of brain injuries isn't absolute cause for suicide or even depression. Your blanket statement that concussions and brain damage is what caused him to end his life is without any evidence. The fact that both his brain damage and that he suffered from severe depression aren't positively linked. He also had more vowels than consonants in his last name. Is that another cause of suicide?

I am not claiming the CTE wasn't a factor, either major or minor, just that we (and everyone else) can't say for certain that is what caused his depression and what caused him to end his life.

Also, don't forget that Seau was part of the cursed '94 Charger squad. That has to count for something.

I'd say Holt before Bruce. Holt just had better stats, overall. Bruce is only like 2,000 yards ahead of him in total receiving yards, but had like 5 more seasons before Holt came in.

Either way, anyone listing Kurt Warner as a "maybe" is smoking rocks.

I think some 2 years before he retired, Holt had the year-to-year highest yard average over first 7 years of career, something like that. Way ahead of Rice's pace. Though, it's a sport were longevity, more than anything, is what separates the greats.

The cause for depression remains unknown and life events (financial, personal, etc) are only one factor of many that lead to this.

And stating it is a fact that the brain trauma caused him to commit suicide is unfounded. Did it likely contribute? I think we can safely say it had some effect. How much of an effect? That is entirely unknown.

Kurt Warner had 6 great seasons and 5 shitty ones....he was great in the playoffs. He doesn't have enough great seasons to be a lock imho, are there worse QB's in the HOF? damn right (looking at a certain Jet QB).

He also went to 3 Superbowls and in each threw for more yards than anyone ever. He holds the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for that. He missed the first 4 years of his career playing Arena football. The amount of records he has or is tied for the lead with is pretty substantial. Now, did he have some super stellar career? No, but he did have some spectacular years. If Davis is more than a maybe, Warner is a fucking lock.

Of those players on the list, Warner is a lock. There just aren't 11 better people to put in. And, as much as I believe Davis would have been one of the greatest of all time, had he not had the big injury, I don't see him getting in this year. And, I hope he gets in next year, because there are some people you know are getting in coming up.
