Freed people usually would provide a new place for a base, as well as a new market for our economy. Plus a freed people will stabilise the region. Not that we don't want the weapons gone as well. Plus it is one last refuge for terrorists to hide.

You have a point; we don't know. However, common sense dictates that the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein is most definitely hoarding weapons he was not supposed to have under the terms of his 1991 surrender, simply because he never thought we'd pull the trigger and ultimately take him on. Unfortunately for Hussein, since 2001 this has not been a world in which we can play with maybe's anymore. You either have security or you don't.

Every day chemical plants are not located in the middle of the desert and disguised. That impedes efficiency to the point where there has to be a pretty damn good reason for constructing the plant that way.

This is not a war debate thread, it is a war update thread. Nonetheless, consider carefully what you have said and what you think. There is no virtue to pulling for the Iraqis in this war; they are an oppressed people that will thank us for this. It's their neighbours who are steamed that we're interfering in Iraqi business - not that it's their business either, of course.
