Sounds like some major battles going on. Our troops are bringing the fight to them.
Do you speak in painfully obvious anecdotes in real life? Sorry, but yeah, we're invading, so...

So you really care?

all of them
It won't do any good but I just sent an email to the Whitehouse to say how horrified I am at the executions and saying I would support opening a major can of whoop ass on the Iraqis.
I think we are holding back out of fear of what it will look like on TV. That really came to light for me last night as I was watching the skirmish in Umm-Qasar. When I was in the Army the training we received when someone was shooting at you from a building was to use artillery to bring the building down around their ears.
Also in the 3/7 Cav battle we are being overly cautious to avoid casualties to our troops, which I support. But with our arsenal we could decimate anyone in the area. It just wouldn't be "PC" and people might be surprised to see Iraqi troops running around on fire.

We need to take out their power grid in Baghdad so they can't show these interrogations on TV which might make them think twice about commiting these atrocities.

One of the reasons why I'm proud to be an American is how we treat our prisoners of war.

Propably Iraqis don't count US soldiers as POW's but illegal terrorist combatants and so it's OK not to use Geneva Convention.

You're right. We are trying to preserve the infastructure but when it goes against the bigger picture it's time to rethink those issues.

They both just said they have video tape of the al Jazeera interviews but won't show them because
they are too disturbing.

Has anyone seen it mentioned on CNN yet?
Damn right, this is news, they need to report it. I'm tired of being told over and over how well everything is going while the news networks barely talk about the grenade attack by one of our own and now the POW's. The American public wanted war, this is war, and we need to face it.

I think the time for surrenders will be short-lived. evidently the iraqi's are using surrenders as ways to help enemy forces locate our forces and ambush coalition forces

I watched all the channels last night and none of them had serious coverage about the grenade attack other then just mentioning it in passing and then going back to the "amazing flexible battle plan by the greatest guy on earth General Franks" (not that I don't like him, I thought he did a very nice job at the press conference) Just turned on the TV this morning and the only network semi covering the POW's is FOXNews who has McCain on the air, although he is actually talking about France right now...

I know for a fact the grenade attack was shown all night last night on FOX and CNN.

They showed them evacuating wounded and they showed the person who they think did it. they did have his face blurred out.

We need to take out their power grid in Baghdad so they can't show these interrogations on TV which might make them think twice about commiting these atrocities.

What's more of an atrocity . . . US soldiers summarily executed in the theater of war or hospitals losing power (granted, most hospitals have an emergency power source)?

I think both are abhorrent, should be considered war crimes, and prosecuted (persecuted according to W) to the fullest extent of the law . . . granted the US doesn't believe any such authority exists in the world . . .

The RUSSIANS may be involved now? Fox News (take it for what it's worth) reports that Russian nightvision and electronic jamming equipment was sold to Iraq as early as last week and possibly technians are over in Bagdad NOW helping the Iraqis with the equipment. What will this do to relations between Bush and "Pooti-Poot" Putin?

That is actually typical military doctrine.

While the source is far from credible . . . I'm sure Bush will ignore it b/c he looked into Putin's heart . . . he's a good man.

If what Fox is reporting is true. The UN is seriously fvcked. With 3 countries selling weapons to and such to Iraq(all of which is illegal under UN resolutions), whats the point of the UN exsisting? When China, Russia and France all violate resolutions theres zero point to the UN.

I wholeheartedly support the wholesale destruction of Iraq.
Might does equal right and I challenge anyone to point me to a time in human history that disproves this.
That said, perhaps it's time to show the 'true' might of the US military?
So far, this has been a war fought with kid gloves. Sound familar? Think Vietnam.
Remove the goddamn kid gloves or we will see many more executed American POWs on TV
and we might even lose the war.

War is war. There is nothing humane about it.
So why try to fight a 'humane' war resulting in massive increases in Coalition deaths?
Simply lay waste from the safety of submarines, ships, and high altitude bombers.
Then whatever is left can be rebuilt.

We are already hated. Most of the M.E. wants us dead.
Let's give them even better reasons to hate us than they already have.
