It seems that we have slapped the Leadership of Iraq and are waiting to do more later.....or to see if they are ...dead.

We have already shut down Iraqi TV and radio, and our own transmitters are broadcasting on the same freq.Originally posted by: BunLengthHotDog
If this did happen, it would not be confirmed for weeks, maybe even months...The propaganda machine is alive and well in Iraq, and he controls it. The only sign I would take as a possible kill is if he doesnt appear on TV a la that general who was supposedly killed, to refute reports of his death...Thats a good sign, but certainly not proof
The Iraqi people are now watching American broadcasts on their own TVs and radios.

We have the radio but not TV. The TV stations are targeted though for the real attack.

Yes, and those soldiers have *NO* idea what fate awaits them...Originally posted by: LocutusX
Christ, on CBC they just showed a clip of an Iraqi Republican Guard training video where a bunch of guys attack a goat, pull out its heart and start eating it on the spot.

NBC News?Jim Miklaszewski reported that U.S. forces had launched a preliminary wave of attacks using B-1, B-2, B-52 bombers, as well as F117 ?stealth?bombers flying from three aircraft carriers, against what senior U.S. military sources described as a ?key air node?and a ?national command center.?The forces were firing cruise missiles from both land and sea.
Yes, the USS Enterprise is still an active carrier... I don't think it is deployed to the war however...Originally posted by: LocutusX
Is it still on active duty or am I way off here?Originally posted by: Grasshopper27

I dont believe this is true... They wouldnt risk using the B-52 while Iraq's air-defenses are still largely intact... Also, none of those aircrafts (B1, B2, B52 and F117A) fly from aircraft carriers...

I am hearing on Fox News that they can't reach many of their embedded news teams with US Ground forces as they are "blacked out".

It would be interesting seeing a B52 try and take off or land on an aircraft carrier.![]()

The same guy just said 2 2000lb bunker bombs were also used and that the Pentagon is confirming that Saddam was the target. Could this be over already?
