and  to all.
hmm, just another paper fantasy of AMD's, I guess. That puts its release a whole month behind their announced date of April 15.Originally posted by: Koyanisquatsi
Actually, if you click on "live availability" the dates all change to May 13th for that san diego.

I've been sleeping. I didn't even realize a 3700+ E4 chip was in the pipeline. What's its operating frequency? I guess it'd have to have a 1MB L2 cache. Now I'm reconsidering my plan to go for a 3500+ Venice, considering the 3700+ San Diego is only around $60 more at Sparco. But I'm going to wait for reviews of both to see what kind of headroom they have. It may turn out that the 3200+ offers far more bang for the buck. At least it's hard to imagine either of the former offering the 40% percent overclock that PC Perspective squeezed out the 3200+ on stock air cooling and with no voltage goosing.Originally posted by: Monkeytool

Note: All prices are for retail 3000+.
EDIT 1: OK. Newegg doesn't have Venices, only winchesters.
EDIT 2: Hmm...did a quick look on Pricewatch (not that they're totally relable) and got nothin'.
Update: Looks like the ETA for most places is Monday, April 18, 2005.
Udate again: Froogle is listing 10 confirmed resellers for the venices:
OK! First one I found, was at ncix $179.61, but they're out of stock.
Froogle has 10 listings right now:
BLT $167.05
needthese.com $162.00
sparco.com $154.07
buy.com $165.99
systech $169.76
Kernel Software $161.77
Neutron USA $163.24
Computer HQ $168.10
Best Selections Unlimited $164.95
Sale On All has a listing at Froogle for the amazing(ly high) price of $192, but their website is 404.
Everyone's still sold out though, or preordering.
EDIT (yet again): Monarch's Talking about a good three weeks before they'll have them in stock (hearsay, but its from their forums.)

We do currently have these on Pre-Order, we're currently looking at May 6th on the Rev E cpus. Obviously this may change, but this is the best date we've obtained so far. I will keep you guys posted on any information I receive on these chips.

Why is the 1MB 2.4ghz 3700+ rev e cheaper than the 512kb 2.4ghz 3800+ rev e listed for presale on monarch. This mess is really getting confusing.

Do we have any expectation as to how San Diego will overclock as compared with Venice of the same actual GHz?
The 3700+ is 2.2ghz not 2.4ghz, maybe this helps explain the price diff? And the 3500+ san diego will only be 2.0ghz.

Are you sure. The specs listed on monarch have it at 2.4ghz
