I watched it yesterday and liked it very much.

I do have a question.

Spoiler********

How could <why did he betray> the other guy get the chanchellor deliver to V at the end of the movie and why did he kill the chancellor? I thought he was just another cabinet level fella. Just as you wouldn't think C. Rice or C. Powell deliver Bush to Bin Laden.

Well if Bush was planning on having C. Rice or C. Powell offed, I'm sure they would really think on whether or not to give push to a terrorist. Loyalty only goes so far and generally doesn't go as far as allowing yourself to be killed by the person you're loyal to.

I went and watched that last night🙂 Turned out to have like OP said a quite deep plot etc.🙂 I enjoyed it alot😀

my favorite part was there were FIVE previews before the movie. including:
xmen 3
superman
poseidon
fast and the furious tokyo drift

i wanted to SHOOT MYSELF in the head. i was like "dear god, is there not ANY original thoughts left in hollywood?"

that alone is like 1/2 a billion $$ worth of REMAKES

then V for vendetta came on, and although it had glimpses of other movies in it, i thought it was very well done. i was on the edge of my seat for a few scenes, which is very rare these days for me and movies.

props to the wachowskis

p.s. the blatant hitler-esque references were a little strong though

I like the movie, but I didn't consider the fight scene at the end that great.

Especially how one small plate held off a hundred bullets, none of which were shot anywhere but at his chest.

Did you fall asleep or something? That's not what happened.

I saw it at the drive-in last night and I saw it at a preview showing the wednesday before it was released. I want to see it just one more time in theatres so I can get some high-quality audio. It's a rare movie for me to want to see it more than once (or at all).

What was deep about the plot? It was just a straight out thinly masked ideological spiel from beginning to end.

Heh, I'm a few weeks late, but I finally got around to seeing this at the IMAX theater. My first time seeing an IMAX movie and damn it sure made that fight scene at the end look and sound even more amazing. 😀

Yeah it was a good movie. IMAX, eh? That must have been great...

You brought it out of the abyss.. I didn't know this thread existed. That movie was the best new movie since Braveheart, says I. My second favorite of all time, simply amazing.

This movie was quite awesome. I'm not sure why some of you didn't like it, but everyone's entitled to your opinions.

The graphic novel is really quite amazing as well, I'd recommend anyone who enjoyed the movie even a little bit to read it, there are plot points that aren't handled in the movie.

Alan Moore, never likes anything that hollywood does with his work. He is a strongly against it. He has never had his name associated with Any of his work including:

From Hell
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
his work from Hellblazer [Constantine]

not to mention his Batman comic "The Killing Joke" [read it if you get a chance, probably the best issue of Batman ever written] was a huge impetus for the Burton's first Batman[1989].

But seriously, this movie is quite powerful. It puts into words a great deal of feelings that I had towards certain topics that were hard to fully realize, I love it when you see something and you just go .. "yeah! that's what i've been trying to say"

That's what I thought when I finally saw this on DVD a couple days ago. It was such a powerful and moving look at what our furture might become and how the people in it could overtake a corupt empire like that. It parallels how the media can control the public so long as the people at the top get their story straight, but that the public can see through the bullshit if someone is strong enough to lead them by sticking their neck out at risk of being possibly misunderstood, tourtured and killed. So yeah it puts into words my feelings on certain aspects of life as well, and watching it unfold the way it did was sad and beautiful at the same time.

Awesome movie! I had no interest in seeing it in the theater and not much when a friend bought the DVD. Watched it at his house, loved it, and bought the DVD off him when he and his wife decided they didn't want it.
