After getting hit with 100 bullets you would not be alive, much less able to fight 10 ppl.

sigh.... can people stop giving credit to the Wachowski brothers? the source material was a comic series/graphic novel. they only adapted the story into a script, and then produced it. they didn't direct it either. and its not their story. 🙁

they made the movie dumass

the government depicted in the movie didn't seem very totalitarian or oppressive to me. I like Equilibrium much better.

equilibrium was a horrible movie. bad acting, stupid gun-kata that did nothing to further the story ripped straight out of 1984.

Preach it my brother.

Hm... I liked equilibrium a lot more, perhaps because it didn't take itself so seriously. I did like the costumes and acting in V better, though.

Guys, I need your help with some of the music featured in that movie...... 🙂

!!!Pseudo-SPOILERS!!!

What's the name of the Classical tune, the one that plays in the emergency speakers when he first blowsup the tower in the beginning and also in the end when the Parliament blows up. Something like Tchaikovsky ????

Also, whats the song playing in the jukebox when V first asks Evey to dance with him and she refuses?

It was too hyped up. It was entertaining and all, but wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting. I think Elrond was a good choice for V, but for some reason Natalie Portman's acting didn't seem all that great. And from what I've read, Moore (the creator of V for Vendetta) didn't like the movie either

I believe they said that it was the 1812 overture

And is the dancing song you are referring to the one with the woman singing? If so, then it might be a song by Catpower

$Spoilers$

Saw it once. Want to see it again. That has NEVER happened in my entire moviegoing history. There was only one moment where I was wondering wtf was going on. And that'd during V's introductory monologue to Evee. I couldn't help but say "oh my god" out loud followed by "this is going to be BAD!" I also wanted to gouge someone's eyes out when they played the 1812 Overture, but that's just because I hate that damned song.

But instead, it was a remarkably powerful film. Amazing fight scenes. Amazing plot depth. Amazing acting. Amazing cinematography. I was breathless by the end of the movie.

put aside your politcal views when you watch it. I found it very entertaining, although the V character was never fully developed.

V was never fully developed for one reason. If I remember, it was the last line in the movie. The investigator dude was asking Evee who he was. "My father. My mother. My brother. You. Me....." He wasn't representing any single individual, he was representing the surpressed portions of humanity. This, in turn, ties back to the symbolism of the mass of people in the streets wearing the mask, and then as the opression lifted, pulling them off. The whole thing was rich in symbolism and metaphor.

with the overwhelming abundance of poor comic and video game movie adaptations, I think they deserve some credit...

I hated the movie. He never took off his mask to show his face, lame!!! I want my $14 back (IMAX).

I hope you're joking...

If you really want to see his face go look at pictures of burn victims.

I really enjoyed the movie. I wouldn't really call this film deep or thought provoking though. I was really puzzled when at the end of the movie a girl said, "I didn't get it at all." If she was talking about the movie...well I don't understand how she wouldn't understand the movie. It seems simple enough to me. But then again I've read quite a few dystopias.

Oh for for the love of Pete...yes, Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture. Probably in the top 10 most famous pieces of classical music. *weeps for the future*

Could be a couple on the jukebox, I can't remember for sure. Cry Me A River - Julie London, I Found A Reason - Cat Power. Those are the only two songs on the soundtrack by female vocalists I think.

Good God... I watched it last night, and all I have to say is it was a 2 hour long Burger King commercial. Seriously!

Saw it twice, one in IMAX.

If you have the ability to see it in imax, it is 10x better there.
If you cant see it in imax, see it anyway.
