It's gonna be a really really bad four years. I suggest focusing on the smaller things in your bubbles and interests and passions and the folks who have basic decency in your lives who did not vote for Trum.

While I can totally appreciate the sentiment, the not needing to defend your opinions is probably why you get so much shit. This is a discussion board where we discuss politics and it’s nearly impossible to have a meaningful conversation when you refuse to either back up your claims, not further explain your opinion, or not acknowledge counterpoints. Can you understand why people would have issues with that?
The lack of conviction and testicular fortitude is the thing that really gets my goat with conservatives. They want something real specific, which varies like anyone with political spectrum leanings, but they just won't fucking say it. Maybe because it's racist, maybe because they know it'll make them look bad, maybe because they know they'll eventually be describing liberalism, but they refuse to say it regardless.

Sort of like wanting nation wide ban on abortion as long as their daughters can get medical care if she needs it...

The inauguration will be taking place indoors due to cold weather. No yuuuge crowds for Lil’ Donny. Those damn Democrats with their weather-control machines.

The fix is in

He saw there wouldn’t be big crowds, so he preemptively set up the excuse. Everybody knows he would have insisted on having it outdoors (with a personal outdoor heater for himself of course) if he thought for one second he could show off the hordes of people who loved him so much they would stand in freezing weather to listen to his word salads and bullshit.

“The crowds would have been gigantic, biggest you’ve ever seen, but they forced us to go into a small area! As always I am the most victimized man in history, you’ve never seen someone so victimized before, and also, I am so extremely macho.”

The Melon Felon is going to have a church service called “One America, One Light” hosted somewhere on January 19. That’s bad enough for such a divisive Un-Christian like campaign.

So, it should come as no surprise that this con man and hypocrite is charging $100,000 a ticket.

Actually, the Bible said that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. If money is the root of all evil, he’s doing all the sinners a favor by removing it from their sinful hands!

"I don't wish to harm anyone, I just support policies that harm people"
Also, yeah, still too cowardly to answer which bathroom a muscular trans man with a full beard is supposed to use, last I knew.

Mel Gibson apparently had no idea that Trump was going to name him “Special Ambassador to Hollywood” until he saw the tweet.

Lol! He’s just naming people he likes because they have been nutjobs like him and positive about his Presidential run seeing them on the TeeVee! Gibson does an appearance featuring his usual oddball rantings, someone shows it to Donald and, BAM! “you’re my "ambassador" to Hollywood”. He’s sending not one, not two, but three ambassadors to a place that isn’t even a foreign country? Hollywood should put a tariff on MAGA hats and other bullshit entering California

What's un-Christian about Trump? He's not very Jesus like but he fits right in as a Christian from the grooming to the sexual assault to the denial of science to the worship of money.

They're all stuck in a no win situation where they can't admit they're willfully having their earnings and savings raided by the very folks they elected to represent "their interests". And their interests are to "cleanse the blood of the nation" that smacks of racism and supremacism of which they can't just come out and admit it, and for many even to themselves. It's uncomfortable, it's innately out of kilter to be threatened by those who should be the ones being threatened. They're all losers that can't ever see themselves that way.

They can't admit that what they really want is a time warp to occur that takes the nation back to a time in the past when the minorities and the women of the nation knew their place in a White America, because in the here and now the demographic trends aren't working in their favor where the women of the nation are an unspoken threat to the machismo of the henpecked misogynists living in what supposed to be a male dominant society steeped in old-time religious fervor and the minorities knew they had to STFU or get "reeducated" in the ways of being second class serfs beholden to their rightful genetically superior masters.

They all saw how Harris lorded over Trump during their debate and how he physically showed it of which must have scared the skivvies off of the Trump supporters that witnessed it. She outclassed the Orange Menace and they weren't about to let that ever happen again, especially as a woman POTUS in control of their lives.

Two comments:
Forcast in dc for monday is 25 degree. Gotta say trump is a real wimp if he can't stand outside in sunny 25 degree weather.

I wish doj had dropped the case against trump allies since he will order doj to drop the case on monday so that the report on classified crime could be released.

I mentioned that the other day, and then saw an article on MSNBC yesterday about how some Dems are pissed at Garland for not dropping the cases so it can be released. He remains a fucking piece of shit until the end. What a douche. Thanks Biden.

TBH, I don't know why we bother with corporate income taxes at all. Tax the owners at their personal marginal rate and call it good. For foreign owners, I can see withholding the tax before profits leave the country so we have a chance of collecting the taxes owned but for domestic shareholders, I don't see much point. With corporate income tax, all shareholders pay the same rate regardless of personal income, taxing the less affluent investors at a rate higher than they would pay on earned income while taxing more affluent investors at a rate lower than the would pay on earned income.
I hear where you're coming from, but the owners make money from their corporations via stock appreciation, so how would you propose to tax them at their marginal rate if it's capital gains which apply? If you suggest that the ultra wealthy get a capital gains rate equal to the average Joe's marginal income tax rate, they simply will wait to sell until the someone in the government lowers their tax rate for them. The wealthy always have time on their hands and can wait for someone like Trump to come in and make their lives easy. Average people absolutely do not. It's also why they get rich even in an recession, because they just scoop up assets at discount.

It's not going to all be okay. I mean it'll be pretty okay for me for the most part, I'm a straight white guy. But it's still going to fuck a lot of things up eventually for me too.

I mean just read any history book; this has happened time and time again and we know exactly what's going to happen next. Human history is filled with the actions of evil people and their supporters. The Trump party is stepping in those exact same footsteps. Why do you think we should ignore the myriad of lessons from history?

Yes, NY Post I know, but really seems like the pendulum is swinging back hard. Trump-Vance-Vance nearly a certainty.

And before anyone starts with my doomer takes, just remember all of your "Trump is going to jail" takes first. LOL.

Oh well, like @GodisanAtheist said...time to make some money at least??

Cool prediction 8 years out, Nostradamus. I guess the pendulum is just going to stop. Nearly a certainty, lmfao

Why do you post this overconfident obvious nonsense constantly?

Trump's mandate is a 1.5% PV win, in which they lost House seats, where basically every policy he's likely to implement is below or well below water in approval. The rule of thermostatic politics is not likely to be defied.

Americans always say they want huge change but absolutely freak the fuck out over moderate changes. The electorate is a bunch of liars and any pol who ignores that is sure to feel the knives.

Can't wait for Republicans to touch all the stoves at the same time.

Do people not remember George W Bush winning a second term with a real popular vote win, then immediately squandering his political capital with "privatize social security"?
