I had a bolt before and sold it due to the random reboots. I bought one today off Craigslist for $160 and it doesn't reboot at all but out of no where ill totally lose my data connection. Before at my house my 4g would barely work because I was on the brink of coverage. Now they put in a tower close to the house and im getting solid 20 mbps download speeds but it randomly loses connection until i toggle the data off then back on.

Hopefully this update fixes that and helps with battery life. I just came from a droid x and the latest update for that really jacked the phone up, I hope this update works correctly.

Got my update last night. Guess it wasn't optional as the updating woke me up. Nothing like lightning going off at 12:30am.

For all you root guys, what ROm are you running? I just got a TBolt and right now am running Synergy, but I hear a lot of good things about the ROMs from TeamBAMF as well, especially their beta ROM of Sense 3.5.

Not a CM guy, I actually like Sense, so would prefer to stick with a Sense ROM. Nothing really wrong with Synergy but always open to try new ones 🙂

I cannot in good conscience point to a Sense rom. Once the early glitches with the Source roms got ironed out, there was no reason to go with a Sense rom. Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC1.8 for the T-Bolt is excellent, and far fasters and more feature rich than any of the Sense roms. I cannot comment on the newer OMFGB nightlies though.

I like sense better then cm7, sure cm7 is a lot faster but it feels stripped down and until its a final build there will be issues. This gb update got my phone working great and honestly I'm happy with it. Maybe in a couple months ill try a custom Rom and overclock but for now I'm happy.

How so? The only 'stripped down' in CM is the carrier and manufacturer bloat. CM builds for the T-bolt are still pre-release though, and have some quirks. More than stable enough for daily driver use though.

Any feedback on the battery life with the new radios? Only had them a day so far, but it seems to be an improvement.

Using RC1.8, standard battery, yesterday saw just under 17 hours . . . and it still showed about 75% battery life remaining when I plugged it in the for the night. Light use during the day, but still an improvement over the older MR2 radios. This is with LTE off though, 3G only.

FYI - It's not in this thread but I see it almost everywhere else...this update screws up VM notifications.

Yes this is true and was known well before the OTA pushed. I am not sure why they did not address this before allowing the update to be pushed out. I am sure there will be another OTA to fix it in the near future. Its somewhat minor and you get the notification if you reboot your phone. Its just kinda dumb that the update broke something that was already working but then again, at least this isn't the MR1 update all over again.

I am glad my data is fixed, I hardly ever get calls so I dont care about the vm notification, everyone I know has a cell phone and if they call and I don't answer they text me, plus ill see a missed call and call the number back. I'm actually very happy with my bolt now
