Time to move on guys. The US lost the gold in women's team gymnastics because of two HUGE errors by Sacramone.

All these sour grapes do make some tasty whine, though.

they would have still lost by .8 points even with those 2 major deductions.

Had they been allowed to compete professionally when they were 12 like China does, this would have been her 3rd Olympics and she would not have been rattled by the 15 minute wait to get on the beam.

First, the Chinese girls are accused of being 14, not 12.

Second, the Sacramone did not make the 2004 US Olympic team even though she was eligible at 16. I know the US and China train differently, but your point is still invalid, the she wasn't good enough at 16 to make the Olympics, much less 12.

Third, you can't just say that one more Olympics would magically make them not mess up. Nor can you blame a long wait amongst many long waits that day for making the US lose. The 20 year old Chinese team captain is on here second Olympics, but she still fell on the beam too.

It's time to stop crying, the US can still get their revenge today.

nvm i think it was the other one

I don't care if being under 16 is an advantage or not. I don't buy that it is. However, there are firm rules here about age and there is an abundance of evidence that China has systematically ignored this rule and forged documents to cover it up.

The Chinese women should be stripped of their medals and their coaches disgraced. If that means the USA gets a gold, whoopee friggin doo. I don't care. I do think that China should have this rammed down their throats. I also know that anyone coming forth with further documentation is going to find themselves deep in a chinese coal mine by next Tuesday and that the government will pressure the governing bodies to let it slide.

In other words. China cheats because the glory of winning is more important to them that competing fairly in the fucking spirit of the Olympics and they will get away with it.

It's a damn shame.

Quite an ending to this volleyball game!

who played and what happened?

China vs. Japan.

China took the first two games convincingly and then collapsed a bit and lost the next two. China stepped it up and won the 5th game.

Even with those two errors, they still beat every team that didn't cheat. 😕

If they accept the loss, that's fine. If they appeal, hopefully they don't get screwed.

they lied about them being 16, how do you know they didn't lie about them being 14? They look 12 and our forum expert on underage Asian girls has verified this. She might not have been good enough, but I guarantee you that Nastia Liukin(blindfolded even) could have easily made the 2004 Olympics and Shawn Johnson could have competed there as a 12 y/o as well. I'm pretty sure we could probably have thrown some 12 and 14 y/o at them this year as well.

On a separate note, take a look at this dumbass who threw down the bronze medal that he had won.
?I don?t care about this medal. I wanted gold?

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympi...prov=reuters&type=lgns

I wonder what his problem with the judging was? It just seems like poor sportsmanship.

from what i can gather (havent seen it yet but read forums on it) is that he actually won the match. but a blown call by the head judge (who can't be over ruled) lost him the match.

but i agree sure sounds like bad sportsmanship.

If she isn't 16, and we all know she's not, and yet the Chinese gov felt it was worth at least at some level to forge a passport, then clearly it's a rule that if broken offers benefit, at least in some cases. If the proof comes out, China must and will forfeit that gold.

Frankly, after watching that Romanian youtube link somebody posted from Montreal in 74 (?), these gymnasts are all complete crap anyway by comparison 🙂

the evidence

Sniff sniff.

i didn't realize China in 2000 had already tried to pull this and been caught. Now I would bet money on the fact she is not 16. I also think this issue will not drop and I predict that China will see its gold revoked.

not a chance. The IOC is not about to cross China. I don't think the US will drop it, and this is as blatant cheating as you can get, but nothing will be done.

Hell, it was proven that the French judge cheated in the ice skating a couple of years ago and it took a ton for them to award 2 gold medals and still didn't revoke the russian golds.

Home team advantage.

When you spend $42 billion hosting the Olympics, you get a few unsaid benefits.
