I dont wanna read the whole thread.

Is there going to be a meet at the AMC 30 in cantera (I might be able to come)
Or is there going to be something else?

Where's cantera?

A bunch of guys may go after the meet at downtown D&B to AMC30 in Barrington.

Okay never mind its out in the burbs. I'm surprised they have 2 AMC30's and 2 D&B one in dowtown and one in the burb's rather close together. (well the one in the burbs arent that close)

But I defiantly dont feel like going into the city.

So you all enjoy the meeting

Okay, so how are going to decide the official meeting time at D&B, and where to eat? Should we set up another poll? Or just post votes here?

I vote for an earlier meeting time (maybe 7:00), and dinner at whatever place has a good variety.

Not too many people have offered uyp suggestions on where to go, but a couple people have suggested earlier than nine.

Everyone - go back to my link to the proximity map on yahoo, and pick a place within walking distance and say meet at 7 or 8.

We'll decide by 11 pm Friday night.

OKAY???? :)

I can do 7 or 8pm... 7 is probably better for the members comming in from the burbs, they can beat the traffic that way.

Dinner is up in the air ... I need to eat before 7:00 (Im hypo) so ... Maybe I'll eat beforehand afterall...
(unless dinner is before our meeting time)

I'm good for a movie, but I'm too poor and too tired to go downtown. Even though I just saw Matrix today, I'm still up for seeing it. I just don't feel like driving downtown (during rush hour = hour and 45 mins) to not spend money that I don't have. Sorry to kinda ditch out on you guys but I'm far too lazy to travel that far to not participate.

you know, I didn't know that. I wish you guys woulda told me sooner. You guys accounted for like 90% of the earlier posts.

Out of the following, I need to know asap (atleast by tonight ) how many of you will make it for sure, and of course, a time (7 or 8) and dinner place if you are interested (using my link from the previous page.

Yea, this thread makes me sort of feel a lot of this was futile, and that's not really fair to busmaster11. Some people just suck I guess. Seems a little childish to not want to go to the city b/c the burbs didn't win.

7 or 8 is good for me for dinner. I'll go anywhere pretty much (prefer not sushi though).

Astroview, thanks, but if I remember correctly, you refused to go when it was leaning toward the burbs earlier.

If we had chosen the burbs, I'd have gone if I could have arranged a ride. I strongly prefer the city to the burbs, both b/c I have no car and I think the burbs are just not fun. Sometimes I get a little vehement about my dislike about the suburbs heh

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it. My girlfriend has to work tomorrow (we only have one car) and I am still sick. Starting to think I may have an ear infection now. I also have to drive to Texas sometime in the next week and I think we may be leaving Saturday after my GF gets off work.

I apologize that I can not make it and hopefully we can set up another meet soon.

Okay, time to change thread title to:

*** OFFICIAL *** May 17 CHICAGO ATOT MEET SUX ***

Since a good number of people have dropped in the past day, especially those I was hoping to drive downtown with, then I guess I'm out too. Dang, I had my schedule planned around this too. :( It looks like we'll have to schedule separate events if city folk and 'burb folk are going to remain "territorial". The flexible among us could cross-over of course (i.e., attend both).

Well, if people are still planning to see Matrix II @ AMC South Barrington Saturday night, then PM me. Of course, that assumes we could still get tickets...

minendo - hope you feel better and that you don't die. :)

everyone else - its one thing to have a quarter or a third of the people cancel out on you but to have virtually everyone be so uncertain about this after we've voted and everything... Heck one guy even complained about it being in the city when he voted for the city...

If I don't hear from another 4-5 confirmations other than noid and astroview I may suggest we cancel or postpone this. Maybe then someone can do a better job of organizing this than I.

For the record, it's not just because it's in the city that I'm unable to go. That's a big issue though. I had to drive downtown just this Tuesday to go see a concert and it was an hour and 45 minute drive at the same time, just one way. This isn't going to help matters if we intend on going to see a movie or anything like that. Secondly, I'm also poor and payday isn't until next week. Dave & Buster's is great fun, but definitely not cheap. I'm not protesting this though because I really don't have any better ideas. If it was @ the D&B in the burbs, I could justify driving 5 minutes to not spend any money. However, I don't feel like wasting at least 3 hours driving to not spend money, especially when I don't have a car so I have to drag somebody else along. You might call me an asshole for thinking this, then so be it.

Also, no offense to anybody that is going, but I'm not too comfortable around strangers. Granted, we're not entirely strangers since we've 'talked', but it's akward nonetheless. If the people I know aren't going (i.e. CorporateRecreation, Citation, minendo), I would be hard-pressed to spend time with strangers who have at least 5 years on me. Like I said, I don't intend this as an insult. I just need to work on my people skills I guess.

If you guys are bent-set on meeting and I can get a ride downtown, I can manage it. The only drawback is I have work until 5 o'clock. I'm not 'counting myself out' just yet, but it's not looking too good when both of my rides are uninterested.

I'll be watching this thread to see who is still going, meeting time, etc....

Okay, as far as I'm concerned the meet's officially canceled or postponed. It's too late to schedule this when most of the people who spoke up earlier don't respond.

Silver, if you still like a meet in Schaumburg please coordinate it and I'll cooperate any way I can. Astro, same with you in downtown. Couple of us guys like Noid and myself are flexible enough to meet anywhere, so just let us know.

If neither of you or anyone else are interested, I'll request that this thread be let die.

ah well, guess this will make me study for my finals more....

Hey busmaster, you did a great job, don't put yourself down. I admit I was a little strong in my reaction to the burbs, b/c of no car, etc.... I guess I'm confused why so many people don't want to come down here, but I'm blinded because I love the city that much. And that made me want the event here so much more.

As for you guys who won't go b/c you won't know people there. Isn't that half the point? *confused as to what you expect*

Yes, well sorry. Some of us had to drive 3 and a half hours to get to the meet only to find it's in a huge city I've never been to and have no idea how to navigate or drive. I've friends in the suburbs so that's why I am not going. I guess I suck.

Edit: I'm in the nothern suburbs I guess it's called right now. agnitrate and I are still willing to do something if you guys want to. I'll be here till monday.
