It was added a few days ago. Wikipedia's user updating is quite amazing, for better or worse.

Well, the good thing is, unlike birds (birdflu), pigs can't fly... so we're relatively safe.

I cackle in the face of people who are afraid of it. It has a lot of catching up to do if it's going to be anywhere near as bad as AVERAGE ANNUAL DEATHS DUE TO THE FLU.
Laughing my fucking ass off.

You need an N95 mask to fight this one. Good thing I bought all of them I could from my local True Value.

Anybody getting flu masks yet?
Yep. Got them for this household already.
I read they wont really help unless its a particular very high grade of mask.

All the pharmacies are sold out, including in the local walmart, but I found some n95's in the walmart hardware section. I can always use them for something else, like working in the attic, if the swine flu fails to deliver pandemic levels of hysteria.

Just got this email from my university
It has come to our attention that two University of Canterbury staff and
two of our students travelled from the United States at the weekend on a
plane carrying secondary school students infected with Influenza A.
Students will be aware that Swine Flu (H1N1) is a new strain of
Influenza A.
The two staff members and two students have been asked to remain in
isolation for three days having commenced a precautionary course of
Tamiflu. They will be guided by doctors as to when they can return to
the University.
During this period of uncertainty about Swine Flu, it is important to
keep abreast of current and correct information, especially regarding
impending travel. Appropriate local information can be found at
http://www.fluinfo.org.nz/
Another useful link is http://urgent.internationalsos.com/default.aspx.
Students should consult a medical professional if they have any health
concerns, particularly if they have visited North America or Mexico in
the past fortnight.
Students who are intending to travel to these areas in the near future
are advised to monitor developments.

On a related note, I saw that pork prices are falling due to the Swine Flu coverage. I'll have to start looking for deal on fresh pork.

I wouldn't worry too much about the swine flu since we're approaching our summer months where the temperature won't permit the flu to persist & spread rampantly.
However, there will be a few carriers that will bring it into the new flu season (Sept/Oct). If the Swine H1N1 isn't included in next season's flu vaccine, then we will be SCREWED.
