No kidding. It's a shame that Steam has no message or notice like they do for DX10-only games. You have to read the fine print to see that Vista or Win7 isn't supported.

Yeah, not good at all.

If I can find it in my pile of "discarded because I hated _____ about it" games, it's yours for a SASE envelope large enough to hold it. (Dead Space that is, couldn't stand the over-the-shoulder perspective.)

Lol, thanks! I can send you my Crysis disc in exchange. :p

That's a shame. Dead Space really is a good game, IMHO.

What about Hearts of Iron III? Worth picking up to play some co-op or is the game so big and convoluted that it's more worth it to just get CiV5 or something like that for co-op gameplay?

Be warned, the first 2 Brothers in Arms games (EIB and RTH30) don't work on Vista or Win7 at all because of their Starforce DRM. The third game, Hell's Highway, works OK.

I don't have any experience with any of the games, but found the above on the Steam forums.

From what Im reading on the steam forums they dont have the DRM because its only on the retail version not the steam version. Also that people have it working with win7 and win7 64bit both games that is.

I haven't played it, but being made by Paradox, it's going to be a huge and convoluted game compared to Civilization.

I played Hell's Highway demo for PS3 a few years back. if the others are anything like it, stay far away. such a clunky, boring, derivative mess.

yes, it was just a demo, but it was like someone cobbled it together with a make-your-own-video-game-at-home kit, or something like that.

Very difficult to understand what to do. Even after going through the tutorial, I still didn't have a clue how to play.

From what I've read on these forums III is buggy and incomplete. HoI II is the one to get. These Paradox games are certainly deep, at least 6 layers deeper then any Civ game. I have Europa Universalis and it's a little mind numbing to get into. With Civ you can get in and play with the Paradox games, eh not so much :)

Which is a little strange coming from an accountant hehe. If you want to give your brain a real workout they're great, but if you don't a steep learning curve pass on all accounts.

Dont know about HoI III but II was incredible, if incredibly in depth. You know that funny little picture about online MMO's and the difficulty and how all the fantasy ones are a graduial line and Eve Online is a cliff?

HoI II makes the EVE Online cliff look like a damn gentle hill with green grass and pretty flowers on it.

So are all 3 Brothers In Arms games playable through steam on Windows 7? Has this been cleared up?

Thanks! Nothin too intriguing. Although, GTA IV for $10 is enticing. Already have it on 360 though.

Yeah...

GTA4, Oblivion, and L4D2 are the only really good cheap deals, problem is that I already have them.

NFS:HP should be a good game but isn't all that screaming hot of a deal @ $30 considering it can't be all too different from the countless other NFS games.

Singularity and RUSE are also two games that are just too new and don't seem good enough to warrant the deal for those only casually interested.

So unless you don't already have GTA4 and/or Oblivion and/or L4D2, I'd say this is probably the least exciting day of deals.
