So I've heard a rumour that PvP is a good way to get some quick experience. Is it worth doing for a bit as a level 31 Trooper to try and get some XP? I only played Huttball once when I was very low level just to complete a quest and I honestly had no idea what was going on, but presumably I can still get XP win or lose? Any tips?

~8k Xp everytime win or lose for ~15-20 minutes of work, +10k xp for daily mission (you have to win a match)

PvP fucking rocks. I have little desire to quest anymore (I'll probably stick to class quests only when I log on this week...need that 3rd companion)

I like questing, but I like to quest solo, so bumping myself a level or two above the level range of where I am questing could be helpful since it could speed things up a little bit. I'm also stupid squishy, so can use the extra boost there.

So I can get ~18K XP from PvPing each day? Sweet! Thanks!

Well you get ~8k for each PvP match; 2-3 matches/hour = 15-25k xp/hour from PvP matches, +10k for a win (daily PvP)

Oh wow, nice. I'm going to try that next time I get a chance to play. :hmm:

So I made a republic Jedi Knight. Does anybody else go dark side as a Republic? Going dark side as a Republic is like making people cry or suffer but nothing compared to going dark side as an Imperial where you KILL people. Wow.

As a dark Jedi you also can kill all the bosses instead of sparing them. And relics will be cheap in the GTN since everyone else wants light ones :)

Don't forget to buy some red saber crystals from the GTN to show your true colors :)

I haven't played a dark Jedi, but my gunslinger alt is on the dark edge of neutral. Smuggling spice? OK as long as I get my fee. Covering up a senator dealing with criminals? How much is my silence worth to you?

Not exactly - losing you'll get anywhere between 3k-6k xp. Winning, I've seen upwards of 12k xp.

I like "supplementing" my xp with warzones. But really, for the investment, doing quest series is MUCH better for XP. Usually you get 3-4 quests per area and with bonuses can knock them out in the same time it takes for one or two warzones (especially if you get into a full match of huttball). Depending on your level, you'll get a lot more movement per minute of time spent questing than you will for warzones, especially when you factor in the xp you get from killing the mobs along the way too.

What I find nice about warzones is not only the XP, but the valor, credits and commendations as well.

really? I find I'm waaaaaay more efficient grinding out XP from PvP cuz there's no wasted time running around.

I've also never gotten less than 8k on a loss. I mean 6k I could believe but 3k? No wai. (does K/D effect this?) I once got 8k XP for entering a WZ for 30 seconds.

Hmm, ok, but sometimes I am near the end of a planet and only have Heroics left, so bumping myself up before doing them all would help me get through everything, so doing space missions and, presumably, PvP, could help out with that.

I have some commendations form that already, but have not seen where to use them yet. Also, does anyone know where I can use the Fleet Commendations you get from Space missions? I have a whack of them, but I cannot find anywhere to trade them in. :hmm:

I'm not sure exactly the numbers, but yes, as was said, it scales somewhat with levels. I think it also scales with time as well, at least on huttball and voidstar. I've been in matches where we get steamrolled in a matter of minutes, and you seem to get a LOT less xp in those. Then again I've been in long protracted matches and occasionally got only like 5k. Then again, I've been on the other side too, sometimes getting 12-14k for no apparent reason either.

Like I said, it's really not a bad supplement. I've found myself having to actually physically STOP queuing to get quests done lately. As mentioned, I can usually knock out a good chunk of a level in about half an hour of questing (at the 20-30 level range at least), whereas the same XP in warzones would take me at least TWICE as long.

Repub side, for the fleet commendations, go to the north hall right across from the GTN in the Republic Fleet where the starship upgrades vendor is - there's another vendor (droid?) a few meters behind him. He sells stuff for the fleet commendations.

Honestly, it's your own fault. You answered the questions, so you should have remembered them. The best you can do is call customer support when they're open.

Possibly, but I agree with the other guy. Some of those questions are so stupid and temporal that the answers WILL change as time goes on and if I ever needed them a few years down the line I won't necessarily be able to remember what "my favorite restaurant as of Jan 2012" was, for example. Also, I don't understand how it's a super level of security. I don't exactly keep such info secret from everybody, I could just imagine some SWTOR offtopic threads like "whats your favorite restaurant" and unscrupulous people using the info to correctly answer the "secret" questions.

All in all it's a terrible form of non-security, and the game would be better off without it.

Then you should probably have thought about that before you picked that question, theres a dozen other options for a reason. And your answer doesn't actually matter whether it's 'truthful' or not, that would just help you remember it. You can make the answer to them "password", "pa55word" and "passw0rd" if you really care to.

The point is it may not protect you from your buddy you go out to eat with every week getting into your account for shits and giggles, but that's what your password is for. And then for the random cracker in the next town over or across the world, even if they get that password they don't have the faintest idea what your first pet's name was, it may as well be three more passwords attached to your account. They're security layers for a reason; to address different degrees of breaches.

Cool, thanks. I've put all of the vendors on the map and can never see that guy. :whiste:

Um, pick a different question?

Last night was weird. I was leveling my IA on Balmorra, and there is the Siege of the Arms Factory quest. At one of the stages, I am confronted by a Jedi Knight and have to kick her ass. I proceed to, but not before noticing that her last name is the exact same as mine is in RL. Ralon Nys. Freaky.

Actually, I was taking names until I got to that Grey Dawn guy. I will have to get help or level before I can take him out. Ditto for the BH quest against the two droids. Dunno why, but it seems the Sith quests are a lot harder than those on the Republic side.

Groan lost 4 in a row in warzones so far tonight.

On the plus side I am applying economic principles to the GTN and making a killing

incredible, lost 7 in a row so far despite being top 3-ish in all of them.

...and on the 8th game, victory.

Averaged 8-10k xp/game in each loss, level 28. I am laying waste as a Powertech...not even in the DPS tree. I love the PT's play style.

//edit 2

jesus just had the greatest game of voidstar. went down to the wire, lost 0-20. brutal.

Played the Alderaan warzone last night, we were down like 250 to 40, three capped, and ended up winning 5-0, good times.

Also marauder is pretty ridiculous, the geared ones at 50 can be absolutely devastating and even at low level if you 'twink' them a bit can be pretty overwhelming. A lot of fun to play though, tools for everything.

What are some of the easier 4-man group hardmodes, and what level of gear is appropriate to start completing them?
