are there any discount codes out there for SWTOR? Thought I ask as I am considering purchasing this game but can't decide with Diablo III around the corner?
If I do purchase, is it worth the extra 20 bux to get the Deluxe version for the extras or just by pass it and play the game?

Who knows.. If they mean it's an easy way to get exp for your alt, that's the same case for your main, so why point that out as something alt specific.

the space missions suck anyway. if they were a separate game, nobody would touch it with a 10 foot pole :p

Finished aldaraan and got my legacy. Haven't picked a name yet (wonder if skywalker still available) and get the choose legacy window every time I zone. Looks like ill have to go back to the planet in 5 levels though to get the bonus series.

hit 50 the other day loving it..
Darth Vixi Stormsaber

and no being 50 is not an "i win" button and gearing up is going to be slow..

story was awesome though.

It's not that slow. Gearing for raids can be be done rather quickly.

1. Go buy all the best crafted mods, armor, enhancements, implants and earpiece and pick up any orange armor you can.

2. PVP for champ gear if desired.

3. Raid.

The raiding can be slow or fast depending on who you're with. We clear the normal mode raids in one night and there's plenty of loot flowing. The hard mode is currently bugged (bosses not showing up). Given the way the loot system works, you could get loot from each boss. We've had guys come in and get like 5 T2 pieces in one night.

You can do hardmode FPs if you want, but they are pointless. Tionese gear (T1) is junky. If you do #1 above, you can raid normal modes just fine. Honestly, I don't even know why the hardmode FPs are there. They have way too much trash, take too long and the rewards are pointless (like getting Tionese crystals that you can't use alone anyway).

There's no real need to do the dailies, but if you like completing everything in the game you can do them, with heroics, to gear up your companions.

Have fun!

Only problem with space is its like a not as good version of the rogue squadron game while most would have rather seen a version of xwing/tiefighter instead.

Space missions got really boring since its basically the same thing over and over using new upgrades.

Man, it's annoying that general chat channels are planet based and if you move to another planet you move to another general channel? There's no such thing as a serverwide general channel you can join, is there? Hate having to basically stand there doing nothing to keep watching amusing troll discussions. For some reason people weren't typing reported at each other today - much better, lol.

I kind of like that, but hate how the GTN is also localized.

DD version is not worth $20, imo. I thought it might be and have it, but it's really not.

i don't mind the space missions.

Me either. They're a nice distraction - it's like a minigame.

The DD version, which I have isn't worth it.

The mount you get is ok and all, but you could buy a mount for next to nothing once you have the skill (the DD doesn't give you mount skill, just the mount).

The flare and dancer are meh. The droid thing is also pointless.

I bought it because I had assumed (whoops) that the edition gave you mount skill as well and more importantly that I might jump over regular edition holders for early access even though they said otherwise. Neither was true. :)

About how far up in level does the storyline take a character? I'm 23 in Imperial Agent operative and still haven't completed "Act 1". How many acts are there?

also, how much better is the tanking ability of a sith inquisitor damage spec than agent operative? I'm aware agent is not a tank class at all, just wondering how crippling to your tanking if you go dmg spec.

Just curious on a technical note...when you go in your class quest areas, you are literally standing on the same area that someone else is when they go in separately, but you simply can't see them and their mobs, and vice versa?

If that is indeed how it works, cool way of saving on hardware resources used, I suppose.

No, the game essentially generates a new copy of the area for every group that enters.

All classes have a story end on Corellia, which could be pre or post 50 depending how you level.

My main class, trooper, ended the main part of the story in the 30s if I remember right. From there, the story continues, but the baddie you were gunning for is gone.

As to tanking, endgame you need a full tank spec to tank. I don't know about pre-50 because when I was leveling up there was usually 1-3 people my level on my server. :)

Just got it last night and let it download overnight. So far, I like it! It's been awhile since I've played an MMO, so I dont' see this getting old too fast for me!

The name's: Gouldo. A Republic Smuggler on Shii-Cho. Is there a guild for AT started? If so, could someone shoot me an invite please? I've been playing solo, but could see this being more fun to play in a group.

Not liking the worlds with bonus mission series that don't open up till after you've left the planet. Its not difficult to finish the bonus quest line, but you also come across several optional heroic quest that you can't get groups for as there are so few people doing the bonus series.

Er, for tanking what I really meant was on another character, should that be a sith inquisitor spec'd for damaged, is it easier to go through the levels because he can tank better than the agent? lol some of these elite mobs I have to kill on the storyline I'm kiting them around cover while companion attacks.

Hey does anyone know where I can buy the game code via paypal? I don't feel like driving into town to pick up the game.

Origin doesn't accept paypal for this game. Know of any good sites?
