Really looking forward to 6pm Eastern...

...after all, I did start this thread :)

Me too. Got into the weekend stress test. My problems will be:
1. Wife has recently gotten into gaming and will be nagging me to play Borderlands or something. :p
2. I have Skyrim loaded on Steam, and it will be calling me.

But I can't pass this up, since both she and I have preordered SWTOR. I just wish I could have gotten into the "general" beta instead of a stress test.

Ah well, high class problems, I know.

I got another invite on my other email account lol so 3rd beta invite.

I hope they fix their homepage soon because at the moment heavy stress is there, can't even load their site or forums.
Finally a message at their site.

SWTOR.com is currently unavailable while we perform scheduled maintenance. Please check back again soon!

Not surprised an "open beta invite" is going to happen [about damn time too]. Though I do have to chuckle at the blanket NDA statement. Seriously? I think it's time to drop the NDA at this point. :)

I sense a great disturbance in server stability and long queue times in a few hours...

I received two invites. The first one arrived two days ago from no-reply@bioware.swtor.com and detailed specifically the start and end of the testing period (this weekend). The other one is from swtor@email.swtor.com and is very vague and just mentioned that this is for an upcoming test.

Oh well, either way, client is installed and patched, ready to go in ~40 minutes.

Damnit I have to work when the server goes live. :(

how'd you download the client?

There was a small 24MB SWTOR Launcher download that I clicked on when I RSVP'd/confirmed my beta invite from the SWTOR website. After I launched the *.exe, it took awhile to download all the game files. Around 19-22 GBs @ 1.61MB/sec.

Can't say I am able to test at the moment :(

Can't seem to get in the game. I selected a server to play on. Wasgiven some huge queue number. Waited a bit and didn't see it budge at all. So I hit cancel. Now my screen only shows the splash banner and some weird blue thing moving in the bottom right. I cancel and restarted the game and only get that screen over and over.

Official forums are also down too. Been in limbo land for the past hour or so.

If you got the right email, there was a link right in the middle bold as can be that said CLICK HERE TO CONFIRM BETA INVITE

When you clicked it you confirmed and got sent the link to download the launcher program. Which in turn would download the game.

Yea, I've got the email with a large grey button that says "Install the Game." I click on it and I go to the SWTOR website that has two more buttons, login or create account. I've already got an account and the login button doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I've confirmed my account that already exists. No go.

Well sucky queues. First server on list is at 5000. i had to open the task manger to kill the game to select a new server. Selected the last one and the queue is at 900. Down to 780 after ~10 minutes. kind of disappointing as tonights the only time ill get to test it out.

Patiently waiting on another email to get access to the game client I guess, first one said I was invited to play this beta weekend, but apparently this doesn't include friday (??), and the email doesn't specify when...

Pretty fucking lame

You can start the download from their website. The first email I got about the invite I thought it was fake. So I went to the website and started the client download there.

EDIT: I'm crashing after character creation.

I went to the website and logged in, browsed around under account settings etc... everywhere I would expect to see a download button and it was for naught

edit: i sound like a whiney little bitch. the reality is i have other stuff to do so i don't really care, but i wish i was never sent this semi-invite to beta to "make me aware" of a formal invite to come later this weekend when there is like 12 hours of time left to play
