Eh, this is why I was never an uncharted fan. Some how Nathan runs into 1000's of dudes with guns and tanks.

What in the world is this weird clay like game? I feel like playing it. 😳 Apparently, it's something called Gang Beasts.

Surprised there was no mention of 1 TB PS4. Maybe that's coming with a holiday bundle or something.

not excited to see uncharted 4. im tired of seeing it and don't really want to see anymore, they keep spoiling parts of it. that scene was awesome, but would have been cooler to see for myself the first time.

Never thought about that but yeah, better to see the stuff for the first time while playing.

So, I gotta hear it, what was the greatness of Sony's announcement?

To me, they did nothing Microsoft didn't do first, and they arguably did less (no backwards compatibility). They arguably leaned on established, multi-platform IP more than Microsoft did. Horizon was the only new IP to offer gameplay that wasn't known already. It looked cool, but got no mention of a release. Dreams (or whatever that game MM was doing) got a smidge of gameplay, I think, but they admitted themselves that it wouldn't be much to go one beforehand, and it's hard to tell what they're doing.

So you didn't see No Man's Sky? Street Fighter 5 with 2 character reveals? World of Final Fantasy?

No Man's Sky sounds (and looks) cool, but as most have said, w/o an objective...it would get boring after some time.

Yeah but I think it's like Minecraft in a way. There's no objective there. The people who just want to try new stuff will get into it.

I was basically talking to purbeast0, who said these things in the MS thread:

i want to see something that we didn't know was already coming out and isn't a sequel.

i mean halo 5, forza 6, madden 16, rainbox 6, the division (which i think they've shown at every e3 since 2013), fallout 4, and a bunch of indie games. indie games look more exciting than anything they've shown.

that one recore game looked neat, but we need more of that. but it looked to have no gameplay shown so it's kinda moot at this early to me.

We knew The Last Guardian and No Man's Sky were coming from a mile away. Battlefront, Arkham Knight, Black Ops 3, and Infinity 3.0 are not only sequels, but multi-platforms ones. Horizon looked cool and showed a smidge of gameplay, but we got nothing about a release window for it.

Yet, 11 minutes into the conference (which I'm guessing was still The Last Guardian), he says

this is already better than anything MS showed imo.

So after jumping on MS for sequels and already-known stuff, he says a game we've known of for 5 years is better than a plethora of near-launch games we got real gameplay of. No debate as to whether TLG is good or not (we saw nothing to evaluate that reality), but he was basically doing what I thought was coming, praising Sony as they do what he just got on MS about.

First two games include a game people have been going crazy over for the last few years (Last guardian) and a brand new IP (Horizon.) Combined with the FF7 remake, SF5, and Shenmue 3, it was a fan boy's dream.

However, it seemed like Sony hit the panic button and pooped out fan service titles that have been sitting on the shelf and stuff they've already shown before. Horizon was pretty awesome looking though.

Horizon looked like a neat Witcher/Crysis crossover or something (though having played neither franchise, maybe I'm way off--I was thinking of appearances and initial impressions). The Last Guardian showed so little, I couldn't be bothered to care (except that I couldn't play it if the dogstritch dies). The FF VII remake sounds like it might be going to PC and/or Xbox One (they said "first to PS4," I believe). SF5 means nothing to me, not a fighting person, and it's late to a party with KI and MK releases before it, is it THAT big of a deal, outside of SF diehards? Shenmue's one I just never played (wasn't a big PS person, still not).

But, like I said, it was more a rebuttal towards the idea that Microsoft's just a rehash company. Sony pandered to the same audience Microsoft did, but they leaned on the multi-plat games in their conference even harder. I'm not in this to turn the thread(s) into platform wars, though, and I'm sure that's where this rabbit hole goes, so I'll just stop on that.

Wow I'm really impressed by that Uncharted 4 demo. Was it really running on a PS4, or was it running on a PC?

It's hard to believe it was running on a PS4, with all that destructibility. Plus the scope was excellent as well, even though it was a set piece.

Battlefront 3 has the best graphics though.. We finally see Frostbite 3 with PBR enabled.

sony knocked it out of the park until that fat guy with glasses got up on stage and started talking about all the rehashed crap.

i personally don't give an f about ff7 or shen mue, but a lot of people do.

also, while we knew about the last guardian a while ago, the game is a new IP and it has gone from a PS3 game to a PS4 game. this was the first time it's been shown on PS4.

then as mentioned, we have horizon which looked awesome.

then we get 2 new sf5 characters and info on the beta, which is just around the corner.

then started the downfall to what we knew about with no mans sky, which to me i still don't "get" it. i have no idea what you actually do in that game and so far i have no interest in it. then the fatty with glasses went into the sequel montage crap.

oh and hitman is a cool franchise which we haven't seen in a long time too. not that i got excited for it, but i'm curious since that franchise was always neat and it isn't like cod and madden coming out every year.

i don't give a crap about ff7 (or any remakes) or shen mue, so those do nothing for me.

disappointed with no HSG info or nothing about crash bandicoot or jak and daxter (just old games i've love see revived) or a true ps4 ratchet and clank.

you seem to be extremely butthurt that i don't get excited for halo 15 or forza 12. get over it.

Sure, but I never liked the way they had waves and wave of guys.

Im the same way, I always thought there was way too much shooting involved. Halfway through the games it feels like a drag just to finish them. However, uc4 did look incredible! I'll probably play it, but won't buy it.

As of 6:30am eastern time, the Shenmue kickstarter is funded and has surpassed it's $2mil goal. Is that some sort of record? Only a few hours into its 31day campaign and it is still going up.

Anyway Shenmue 3 will happen. It is official. I believe Sony brought Yu Suzuki on stage because they are going to help fund it if he reaches the kickstarter goal. I have nothing to back that up. I just think that's why they brought him on stage.

I really want to like Horizon, but I'm extremely skeptical. The concept is cool enough, but the gameplay was pretty lacking. The main character also needs to stop talking.
