Regarding downloadable content: During Rock Band for the Wii development Harmonix focused on making the core gameplay experience as solid and enjoyable as possible while tailoring it specifically to the strengths of the platform. The Wii version still contains the robust four-player band experience and all the fun at the core of other versions of Rock Band. However, because the Wii's online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they've come to expect.

I picked up the Boston pack this morning and rocked out 5 of the 6 songs.

Man 'More than a feeling' is amazing. That song alone was worth the $10.
 
The Boston pack is the shit. I just did the whole 6 song set on drums. Each song is so fun. Rock and Roll band is really fun on expert drums. And Something about you is actually pretty challenging in parts, I only got 4 stars on the first run. More than a Feeling, sounds awesome for guitar and vocals. All in all, best week by far!!! DOWNLOAD THIS PACK NOW!
If any guitarists or singers are on tonight add me and lets play some of these songs! GT: shockwave827

This is by far the best pack in any of the RB/GH series. With the 7 Boston songs and the 6 GD songs I am set. I need not play anything else again. 🙂

I played through all six new Boston songs in order earlier. It was kind of funny, I was going through them on Expert and out of the first four songs, I had gold-starred two of them and five-starred the other two. Just as I was simultaneously feeling happy AND ashamed that my fake guitar skills had progressed to this, I started up "Smokin".

Holy crap, I barely passed it and survived long stretches with the red screen flashing. It was fun, though. I'm looking forward to getting that one down.
 
man. i love more than a feelin. i play on medium and the song is really not that hard on medium at all. i decided to step it up to hard and holy fuck. it is so freaking hard. hahaha. i haven't played on hard yet so this was my first foray on the hard setting. i cannot get my hand to move down a "fret" quickly enough. sucks. ill need some practice i guess.

i just wish my drum pedal wasnt broken...
 
So I go into the rockband store to preview the Boston songs .... They arent under the new releases ... Hrmm.

Ok, I go into just "songs" ... not there....

alright ... song packs? Yup!

So I get in there and it says I have bought the song pack all ready..... uhh .. NO. So I preview the songs ... then leave the store to see if the are in my song list. NOPE.
Back to the store .... now the songs have not been bought... (so I bought them) but I wonder if I could have "re downloaded" the pack when I was in the store the first time. It did give me that option... kinda weird.

I am not a huge Boston fan ... but these songs should be fun.

All day Sat ... 4 of us play. Its amazing how fast time goes when you play this game.

How did it break? Did you RMA it already? My friend's just broke and he's ordering a replacement pedal from a 3rd party company.

The ones on ebay seem a bit pricey ... I did see a few on Amazon that seems reasonable.

I also pre-ordered the frontman guitar. I hope it ships when they claim it is going to. (4-1)

I also noticed that they changed the inside of the standard RB guitars. Looks like after everyone was having issues with the strum bar they changed the contatcts. So I have one with the crappy metal contacts and one .... well ... not real sure how that one reads a strum. I dont think the new style is any better .... not sensitive enough.

Cool one free song is fine for me. Anyone that's played portal knows how cool that song is.

I bought the GD and Boston packs and really haven't had time to play them yet anyway.
 
The Boston Pack is awsome. I only bought Truckin and Casey Jones from the GD pack, but both of those are pretty fun too. I swear that Boston looked 30 years into the future and saw GH and Rock Band when they wrote their music, because those songs are just made for these games. They are so much fun to play... challenging to most people but not impossibly hard to play... and great songs to listen to besides. They are perfect. I've only tried them on guitar so far, but I expect the drum part to be great as well.

I don't think it's coming out until mid to late april. Amazon had the wrong date. I don't know why they don't get an updated date, but mid april to late april is what most estimates elsewhere indicate.

Yep. Guitar is pretty easy. It's listed as an overall easy song. I can't really sing or play the drums at 2am so I'll have to rely on someone else's experience for that 🙂

Cute. My copy of Rock Band came in last night, and while we didn't really have much time to play it, it's a pretty impressive kit. (Those drums are huge!)

My only complaint is that the guitar's strum bar feels really mushy. I much prefer the clicking one that comes with the Guitar Hero guitars. Maybe the wireless one will fix that, I hope?

No, the RB guitar is made to be a silent strummer so it does feel a bit mushy when you push it. I swear that if you use it and give it a chance you'll love it.
