Might as well start this one up, this should be a popular one around here for the next couple of weeks. Still deciding if I want to pick it up or not, I'm sure I'll talk myself into it.

Thanks for the info Queasy, I just canceled my preorders at Amazon.com. No Fry's here, but I'll probably get it at Target for the $10 gift card and the opportunity to play it a day or two sooner.

I rented and R6:Vegas and sucked horribly online. I'm just not good at one-shot and your dead games. COD4 is a little more forgiving so I've actually done better there. I'm going to give it another try with R6:V2 though.

FWIW, it's $55 at Costco.com, and likely the same at Costco B&M.

Will this be better than Call of Duty 4 graphically? Is this considered to be a superior game becuase it is released five months later? I was going to buy Call of Duty 4 used from Ebay but then I noticed that this game is coming out. I don't know which one I should get.. Any suggestions?

Do you understand that there is more to games than graphics? You're talking about two distinctly different types of FPSes. Vegas emphasizes tactics a lot more. You often (almost too often) are presented with a room with multiple entrances; you use a fiber optic camera to scope out the guys inside the room, pick initial targets for your squad, then when you have it planned out you enter the room and clear it. Vegas also forces you to use cover more. You can't take too many hits before dying. From behind cover you can fire blindly or pop out and fire more accurately. You can also direct your squad to take positions behind cover and attack an area. You really have to use your squad effectively to play Vegas, you can't do it on your own.

Call of Duty 4 is a more traditional FPS. You can obviously hide behind stuff, but there is no cover button that you can use to really take advantage of cover.

I can't compare the multiplayer aspects, because I've never played Vegas multiplayer.

I'm going to wait like 2 weeks on this one and then decide whether or not to get it based on the MP.

This game has gotten very little hype unlike the first game. There will also be no demo for it either. Its best to wait for thorough reviews before plunking down 60+ bucks for this. I think it'll be like GRAW2 in that its more of an expansion pack which is fine if you enjoyed the first game but I don't expect anything special out of this.

I do hope its good as I enjoyed Vegas.

I don't care if this game is basically the same as Vegas 1 or not, I played Vegas 1 regularly all the way up until COD4 came out. That was mainly because a large part of the online players left for halo3/cod4.

I'll get just as much play time with this one.

I just want to find out how the multiplayer is run. I had vegas 1 but I couldn't stand the multi because:

1) People would host games where the only map they played was that one stupid attack and defend map over and over again.
2) Every server was different with what weapons they decided to ban for whatever arbitrary reason.
3) I would constantly get kicked from games because my rank wasn't high enough.
4) I tried to edit the way my guy looked and it reset all of my progress.

If they changed this stuff I'd be interested to know. I'd rather they have MP set up like COD4 and H3 have with matchmaking.

More than likely none of that will change. (I agree on #1, I stopped playing R6 just b/c of time constraints and bc it was just the god damn casino every fvcking game)

I only used Google Checkout once at gogamer, never at any other site. Would I still be able to get the price off? Or would I have to create a whole new google checkout account.

You'd have to create a whole new account.

I do have two gmail accounts. Would I just be able to create a new one on that? Or is it possible to cancel my current account and just start a new one on my existing email.

You have to create it on another gmail account and use a different credit/debit card too.

Ok, well then I'll either be getting it from buy.com or newegg. Newegg had it for $56.99 but I'll get it from whoever ships it faster.

It doesn't delete your XP/rank progress when you reset your character... you must have been resetting your rank instead.

Do not cancel your gmail account. Once it's gone, you'll never be able to get it back. I learned that the hard way.

Still undecided about this one. I thought the first Vegas was an abomination, and insult to the Rainbow 6 franchise on the PC. Well it wasn't bad, just too simplified. Now ow that I have a console, it 'may' be worth it... Going to wait for some reviews.

As I understand it, the PC port of Vegas wasn't very good.
