Picked up the game during lunch today. I can't wait to get home to play this. If anyone wants to play online, my gamertag is TriggerBart.

Never played the first one. I seem to be stuck with "rescuing the hostages" early in the game =/

So far the "normal" mode of single player seems quite a bit more difficult than last time around. Of course they've added a "casual" mode below it.

Just finished the game on coop today on realistic. Damn the game is good, I actually liked the campaign more than the first vegas. I only played Team leader for about an hour other than the campaign, very fun.

Only problem with coop is we have to make the AI teammates hold their position at the start of the level so they don't steal the kills :)

I think the graphics look a bit more refined. Definitely an improvement over the first one, I love this game.

argh i hate the fact that i can no longer play 4 player story coop with my friends.

but i guess the respawn option in t-hunt makes up for it (yeah we suck! but it's a blast!)
im up to the gym now. it's more of the same but it is a pretty good game (i probably logged 100+ hours on the first one)

me and my friends loaded up the Presidio map as the first t-hunt, our strategy no longer worked. it was funny how we have everything scripted and everyone knows their role and where to hide in the first one, and we load this map, tried to do the same and all died within a minute. LOL

They finally added in Respawns into t-hunt? Wow, I can't even imagine how many retrys me and my team had on LVU Campus.

LVU Campus was easy! thats the level i use to level up! along with Presidio and Dante Casino.
I was wondering if LVU campus would be here in #2. nope. probably will be in the Downloadable Content since it was a fan favorite (well it was really the XP-boosting favorite).

Respawns is limited to 2 maximum (so you get 3 lives) I have yet to see if respawning in t-hunt hurts your XP. i played Villa a few times, sometimes we get 150XP, on a few matches i get 950XP. but i checked the stats, it's not like i didn't respawn or if i had the most kills or most accurate, i have no idea how this works yet...

at least i know you gain XP even if you lost since kills and how you kill get you XP. which is GOOD.

I cleared out my Gamefly queue and left only this game in there. Hopefully, I'll get it this weekend but probably not until early next week.

edit: d'oh. May be longer. Gamefly sent me an email saying that they were shipping the game from their Los Angeles warehouse. Cross-country trip!

I can't view the cheats but why do you need cheats?! :Q

You should be excited about this one if you liked Vegas 1. It's much more polished and I think it's a lot better.

I definitely liked Vegas 1. I just got off the phone with Jerry - don't know if he's just too used to COD4 now, but he says it plays diff (to him) than R6 did. I'll find out later tonight.

Well not cheats, but certain tricks and stuff:

TAR-21 assault rifle
At the "Press Start" screen or while customizing your character's guns and clothing, hold RB and press Down(2), Up(2), X, B, X, B, Y, Up(2), Y to unlock the TAR-21 assault rifle.

Stronger ragdoll effect
Pause the game in Single Player mode, then hold LB and press A(2), B(2), X(2), Y(2), A, B, X, Y.

Third person view
Pause the game in Single Player mode, then hold LB and press X, B, X, B, click Left Analog-stick(2), press Y, A, Y, A, click Right Analog-stick(2).

Laser bullets
Host an online match on Xbox Live. It can be any match type as long as you are the host. After the game begins, pause the game, then hold LB and click Left Analog-stick(2), press A, click Right Analog-stick(2), press B, click Left Analog-stick(2), press X, click Right Analog-stick(2), press Y. If you entered the code correctly, the message "GiDoeJoe Mode" will appear on everyone's screen. Alpha team will shoot blue lasers and Bravo will shoot red lasers.

Comcast Optimized multiplayer map
At the main menu, select the "Extras" option. Choose the "Comcast Gift" option, then enter "Comcast Faster" as a password on the virtual keyboard to unlock the "Comcast Optimized" multiplayer map.

Prequel bonus
Have a saved game file from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas with an "Elite" rank on your hard drive or memory card to get 2,500 experience points, the ballistic face mask, and flight helmet when starting a new game.

I was just reading that the PS3 version only supports 14 players online, whilst the 360 version supports 16. Kinda odd.

Alright so I haven't touched SP yet...played MP for about 3 hours last night. My thoughts:

- Walk slower - with the built in run, seems like the guy are turtling along now. Maybe it's just me, or it's the COD4 I'm used to now, but seems like they walk slower to me
- More gunning - seems a lil bit harder to shoot - more recoil on the guns to keep you from just holding down the trigger
- Grenades slower? A lot of guys last night seemed to notice there was less emphasis on the use of grenades - again, maybe we're all just used to COD4, but seems as if it's taking longer to throw a grenade, making you more vulnerable to getting shot at while doing so. And seems like the grenades aren't going quite as far

Just my thoughts on it...I've enjoyed it so far and actually have missed the whole Rainbow experience. Some of the maps - I question why they exist, as they're confusing, or seem not well designed, but all in all having fun with it.

The walk speed/grenades are because you are used to COD4. I started playing R6V1 a week before V2 came out and it just feels "normal" now. Although they may have weakened the grenade throws up a bit.. but I'm not sure on that. The sprint feature is nice and it just feels very natural now, I can't imagine R6 without it.

There is definitely more recoil on guns and they have tweaked them a lot, it's very obvious. The SPAS12 (my favorite shotty) has had it's ranged reduced significantly from it's V1 sniper shotty days. Overall I like the changes... I always shoot with short bursts so it hasn't really affected me much. The people who like to walk around holding down the fire button can't do that as easily anymore.

And I must say, I am LOVING the M468. My favorite gun is the FAMAS, but the M468 may take that spot.

And about the maps, I think you just need to get used to them. My favorites at this point seem to be CQB training, convention center and the one where it's half-finished condo's, but I can't remember the name.

Oh and one thing I LOVE about the new Vegas... the host can now "swap" players. If some dick doesn't switch teams when asked the host can swap whoever he wants. And the host can now turn off the "kill cam" where when you are killed your screen zooms in on where you were shot from.

Walk/grenades - I'll give you that. I did see you playing R6:V the last week or so. :) And yes, sprint feels very natural...I love it too.

CQB training - thought that was alright. The convention center was definitely awesome. And the condos one - you're probably thinking Villas. You're right in that I need to get used to it more, and they're probably more balanced, but there isn't the killer map like the Casino or even Killhouse was in the first one. (Or hell, even LVU Campus) I do need to play them more, but just haven't found one that I just immediately said "wow that's a killer map" like those 3.

Didn't know there was a kill cam...guess he had it off last night. ANd I do like the ability to join in an on-going game ala COD4...very nice feature. It SUCKED waiting 20 minutes to join a R6 game.

I'll see ya on there tonight if you're on bud. :)

I started the SP campaign tonight and it doesn't seem as great as the first one was. I ran into some glitches with my teammates not stacking up where I told them to and at one point I got a "mission failed" because Michael died, but I could still see him standing in front of me. I also think a recap of the first story would have helped. It's been a while since I played Vegas and I don't remember how it ended. Right now it seems like I am just running from checkpoint to checkpoint.

story mode was okay. the maps didnt wow me like #1 did though. i beat it on coop with a friend on normal. may even try for realistic for the achievement

i hit a bad stutter at the strip club, to the far staircase near the neon silhouette sign. i died there because of the stutter. thank god it didnt happen again anywhere else throughout the game.

i didnt pay much attention to the story, but i think time-wise this is a prequel to the first one... spoilers below

since when you beat the theater, you go solo to the nevada desert oil field or refinery or whatnot, unless i'm mistaken it was said that michael and jung were sent to help out Logan at the Casino (which goes back to the second stage - first casino stage of R6V1)

how the rest fits into the timeline is beyond me, i guess the Puerto Rico Villa stage where you execute Gabriel is AFTER the whole Hoover Dam missile launch from the first game.

please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

Finally got the game yesterday. Anyone want to help me go through the story later? I'm also up for multiplayer but I still need to get the feel of the weapons. I used to only use the 552 Commando in Vegas 1 but I'm starting to like the shotguns much more now.

I finally got the game in the mail from Gamefly yesterday. I only had time enough to play about half-way through the first mission though. I remember why I didn't play the first R6:Vegas game. I just suck at R6 games. I don't know why that is....but it just is.

I found a good spot in single player to level up on Marksmanship...it's right when you're about to get onto the monorail station. There's a equipment box - grab a sniper, walk out the doors. Someone fires a RPG and there's a huge rush of guys. Every kill is +3. Almost 100 points there. Whenever you're done killing people, reload checkpoint and repeat.

In regards to the timeline - they've specifically stated this is the sequel to the first one...I don't see why you think it's a prequel when it's clearly stated otherwise.

Actually I *think* (not 100% sure) that R6V2 takes place before, during, and after R6:V1.
