Don’t forget running shopping cart extortion rackets!

I wouldn't be surprised at tip lines.. report illegal aliens around you if you want to be in the good graces of MAGA.

Then sit back and watch what happens to "unity" around here..

This is not going to be a fun 4 years.. and the people who expect others to pass their purity tests.. they are going to be severely disappointed.

It's literally everyone for themselves now.

As an example of this in action: various cis women who aren't adequately/properly feminine being harassed in bathrooms.
Weirdly enough when I was in high school some people tried to insult me by calling me Mexican because I have brown hair and eyes and tan pretty darkly.

I thought it was weird because I didn't find it an insult because I'm not racist, but I went to the same high school as Nazi boy rittenhouae so you can imagine the kind of people that live in that area.

My guess is they would end birthright citizenship moving forward. It would be the easiest option. This is, of course, after SCOTUS goes calvinball on it after it gets done disposing of whatever feeble legal challenges come up.

How would they do it retroactively? How would you prove your parents were here legally, especially if they're dead?

Still haven’t seen a cogent legal argument for ending birthright citizenship that passes constitutional muster.

My wife is of English ancestry but has dark hair so she carries her passport card with her. Arizona's new law turns every cop into the race police. People sure enjoy watching other people's faces get eaten.
JFC. I was scrolling to the end to make a comment. "if you are not super white, you best be finding your birth certificate or papers. If you are shades darker, consider carrying that at all times. Its really hard to get proof of citizenship from behind bars or if you are dropped into Mexico."

The fact that it already happens is really sad.

prj2025 is a Vance project.

Ironically the best thing you can hope for now is for Trump to actually serve 4 years and not step down.

Good people would fire upon those who come for those families.
Find and make connections with armed militia. Stand united or fall divided.

They'll just expand the law so anyone found aiding an undocumented immigrant is also subject to legal action by the state.
There will be a lot less good people when their own well-being is on the line too

I couldn't find a better thread to ask this in so here goes: Trump has on at least one occasion suggested that he wants to suspend the Constitution. When I search for it, I get some comments he made in 2022:

However I thought he made some more recent comments at one of his rallies. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

the constitution. lol

What would it actually mean if Trump declared a "national emergency", as he has repeatedly said he would?

I can't find a clear definition of what a 'national emergency' actually implies. It actually seems surprisingly ill-defined.

National Emergency is very broad. Undoubtedly, and unfortunately, Trump could declare one with respect to immigration and neither the courts nor Congress would be likely to stand in his way

Since the SC gave him immunity, can he be stopped from anything?
Can he even be impeached, no matter what he does?

yes he can be impeached, it’s a political action and immunity isn’t part of it

Practically though the current GOP wouldn’t impeach him but that is different from can he be impeached.

I would hope they would impeach if he starts doing illegal shit. Which is inevitable. Remember, the house and senate aren't ALL republicans. Only need some of them to be decent humans.

If he pisses them off.. they know he's politically dead and can't run again.. and may prefer Vance. It's a matter of him being "useful" for their agenda in the mean time.

Though maybe SCOTUS will find a technicality a POTUS is limited to serving 2 terms but he didn't serve his term because democrats!

Well they've already stated that they're forming another "commission" to investigate the 2020 election.

So, the roadmap becomes very clear if you have any sense of imagination. National emergency + "we found fraud from 2020" = Trump is owed a third term. If he even wants to run again. If not, they can still suspend elections and install whomever.

Who's going to stop him?

You need most of them to be decent humans. He was impeached twice his first term, but not enough Senators voted to convict. I think they need two thirds of Senate to convict. 67 Democrats in the Senate isn't happening without an act of God.

A bipartisan group of 57 senators voted to impeach Trump for attempting to incite an insurrection (including 7 Republicans). 22 Republicans voted to acquit, solely claiming lack of jurisdiction to impeach an ex-president as the only basis of their vote. None of those 22, at the time, even made any pretense that he was innocent.

(The other 21 either made no comment on the basis of their vote, or supported Trump on the merits).

You people are spitting in the wind. If they didn’t vote to remove last 2 times what makes ANYONE think they will do the right thing this time?
Oh, zero chance while Trump holds actual power. Any republicans that even hinted at voting to impeach Trump now would be lucky to escape alive from the MAGA lynch mob ~ even if he goes further off the deep end and decided to nuke a random country on a whim.

There's gonna be a LOT of US citizens who will be deported for "Mexican sounding names". They will basically be stripped of citizenship and deported, and have to prove in court at great expense the deportation was in error. That's just a minor problem compared to the pain this idiotic choice will bring us all.

But hey, ownin' da libs, was all that mattered anyway, right?
In all honesty, I am kind of looking forward to seeing Ted Cruz get the boot. 😀
