If he really thought it was a terror attack why not outright say it? He left it up to interpretation by mentioning 9/11/2001 right before he said "terror attacks". Just look at the totality of the 2 weeks and all the statements that were made.

He had plenty of opportunity to call it a terrorist attack, explicitly, and yet he talks about some bullshit video.

The exact line Obama used in his speech was "No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for."

The thing is people can commit acts of terror any day. A burglar who breaks in and messes up your house while you are there and holds you at gunpoint while his partner robs your house can be an act of terror. While I think this phrase leans more towards terrorist attacks, I think using the words "terrorist attack" is a far stronger phrase that suggests that the administration feels that this attack is indeed one. I saw no words. Perhaps it's an early statement and they have to be careful.

Of course he also mentions the Youtube video when he says, "We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None" True. No excuse for violence, but why bring up the youtube video. Who even cares? If it's no excuse why bother to reject the video? The video was a product of an idiot. Since when does the US government need to distance itself from that? Do we feel the need to distance ourselves from the KKK? And every other stupid idiot that lives in this country? Does Obama need to apologize for this?
