2. It's easiest to use the website for browsing/purchases rather than on your console; it's the most efficient way to achieve tip #1 as well. Website is here.

NOTE THAT THE BELOW IS FOR NORTH AMERICA PS+ ONLY. SOMEONE ELSE CAN DO THE EUROPE VERSION IF THEY WANT.

Yeah, it can be pretty awesome. I have been looking forward to Guacamelee for a bit, and to see that I get $3 off makes me pretty happy. Everyone should check this game out when it comes out tonight.

Heard nothing about Guacamelee until now, but it's awesome. It plays great on the Vita too which is what I really wanted it for. If Sony and developers continue to bring out games that include the vita version I will most likely side with Sony this next generation (at first at least).

Added Spring Fever Franchise Sale items

And I agree gorcorps; It's an amazing game that otherwise would have completely turned me off by the name.

I wish that Guacamelee game had a demo available. The video looked interesting, but I don't know if I'd enjoy it. :\

So are free games only free for a month? Do they rotate at a set time?

I believe that what you said is correct. Some games last longer such as the games that were on the 12+3 month promotion (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, etc.).

They're only obtainable for free during their month, but after they rotate out you can still play them while you have your PlayStation Plus membership.

Wait so as long as I download the free games, and have a subscription, they are always free? I may have to sign up then.

Yup. You can even buy them without downloading, and you can download them later if you need to. The games only deactivate when your subscription expires, but as soon as you renew those games will be playable again.

Well, waiting for the PSN to update to update the thread. Also waiting for that freaking SS demo...

Being a new PSN user, this experience has been quite a deterrent.

Dang, Microsoft better step it up. XBL Gold looks lame compared to this. PS3 was late and overpriced, if PS4 comes out same/earlier for same price as Durango, this could be a huge boon to Sony. I don't think Microsoft should underestimate Sony in the least, it almost seems like they've gotten cocky with their current-gen lead over the PS3 in North America. Historically, very few companies in gaming can lead for two generations, and none have lead for three straight ever (outside of Nintendo for portables).

The only times I can think of :

Nintendo NES post-crash 8-bit consoles (huge win)
Nintendo SNES 16-bit (moderate win, though Genesis was a very strong second place)

and

Sony PS1 32-bit (solid win)
Sony PS2 64-bit (solid win, though Xbox1 gained some traction later with Halo/Halo2)

Vanquish is pretty damn fun. It has a very arcade-like feel, as I'd expect from a Sega game. A good fast paced third person shooter that you can pick up and play easily as most missions are 15 minutes or less. I remember playing the Demo back in 2010, and I'm glad I can get it for free now.

Kind of wish I would have waited on buying BlazBlue a month or two ago for the 360 (sub-$20 game). I mostly just wanted to try it out to see if I would like Persona 4 Arena since it's made by the same people. Frankly, I like free much more than ~$20. :p Since the most of my experience with fighting games was on the 16-bit consoles (Killer Instinct, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Mortal Kombat, etc.), going back to 2D was sort of a nice throwback.
