So I cleared off enough room and downloaded uncharted 3. It was at 98% when I went to bed last night. This morning, I got on and went to my games and it has xcom but no uncharted on there, and if I look the memory for it is taken up. Any idea where the hell it went?

I just downloaded it and mine disappears after installation as well. Looking online they're saying that you need to install the multiplayer part, the 2d movies part, and maybe even the 3d movie part for the game to show up. Seems asinine to split them up if they're all required.

Wow, sounds like someone screwed up. I need to put a bigger HD in my PS3 before I can DL it, been wanting to play it again for awhile.

Broke down and signed up finally. Regret not doing it while Infamous 2 was up though :(

Question for you PS+ users.

I don't currently own a PS3, but have pre-ordered a PS4, and already set up a PSN account so I can just set it up on day one and be on my way.

I picked up a PS+ one year sub from BB because it was on sale. Seeing that I don't own a PS3, does it make any sense to start my one year sub now so I can claim the free games? Or, are the free games only going to work on PS3 and once the PS4 comes out, the free games would be useless?

Thoughts?

Most people will probably tell you that it's not worth it, but there's one huge, partially undefined variable in the room: Gaikai. Sony stated that they'll be offering the ability to play games through Gaikai, and it sounds like that will include PS3 games. So, if you own a digital license of a game, will that allow you to play it over the network? I'm not too sure, but it's plausible.

Also, could you ever be convinced to buy a Vita? The PS4 will be able to stream any game that doesn't use the PlayStation Eye 2 to the Vita. I was watching the Knack video, and they said it was ridiculously easy to implement and all the had to do was work the Vita controls into the PS4 you lose two shoulders buttons but gain another touch screen (Vita has front and back). I ask about a Vita because PlayStation Plus also includes Vita and PSP games, and the latter play on the Vita.

Just to update this in case anybody was wondering. After the download you'll have a bunch of DLC packs to install individually. You need to install the single player campain, one of the video packs (no need for 3D if you won't use it) and the FTP multiplayer game. Then you'll have the multiplayer game show up in your games list, and you have to launch that and start the SP campain from there.

The huge download includes a couple foreign language packs but you don't need to install them and can just delete them, but as far as I can tell you can't choose to not download them from the beginning.

You can always cancel them once they start downloading. I ended up having to delete mine because it installed but never showed up in my game list. I finally located all the stuff on my hard drive and deleted it. I will download it again, but I am in no hurry since I have The Last of Us right now.

But that's what I'm saying, it looks like it downloads as one giant pack and then you have what looks to be a bunch of DLC stuff waiting to be installed when it's done downloading. I didn't see any hint of it being broken up until it was done downloading, then I was confused at all the random crap I had in my games list (and some had doubles). But I installed the SP pack, multiplayer pack, and 2D videos and finally the game popped up in my list.

It was a mess but it was free.

I know its all speculation at this point, but I would guess theres a 90% chance that this will happen at some time. My only question is this: Do you think this will only be available for games you purchased through PSN, or will disk based games probably work too?

If only things you purchased from the psn will work - id consider selling my disk based games for digital copies.

Also, has anyone else heard the rumor about how psn treats your game licenses. Ive heard you can only install on 2 systems, and then your done - if you break or lose a system, there is a chance you might get screwed. Or am I thinking of nintendo? I love having all my games in a digital library, but that seriously ruins it if its true.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't allow both to work. The one thing that I'm curious about is the cost. Will Sony simply include this as part of the benefits provided to PlayStation Plus members or will this be a separate service sort of like their streaming music thing?

With the PS3, you activate your console for a specific account. I don't know if multiple accounts can activate a single console though. Someone earlier stated that you can remove devices from your account's activation online, but I've never done that before.

You can activate two PS3 consoles with a single PSN account. You can deactivate them later if one breaks or you sell it.

So If in the future I have a PS3, PS4, and a Vita, will I be ok?

And I know this has nothing to do with PS+, but is MS free game offering the same deal as PS+? I see they have fable 3 for free right now - do i just have to download once and itll always be mine as long as I have live? Not that I care too much about it since I wont be getting the new xbox, and PS4 + gaikai is gonna be pretty sweet.

I think the only way MS might get me back is if they really start pushing PC gaming - even if they sell games you can play on xbox, and then cross play on windows 8. Probably not gonna happen though.

Yeah you'll be fine. Since the PS+ service is meant to encompass all their game machines. I gotta admit, I want a Vita because 90% of the games I wanted for it so far I have gotten for free on PS+ lol. I have like a dozen Vita games so far.

As for the MS thing. I have no idea how it works as far as tying it to your account. I do know that you get to keep the Live games even after the sub expires though I have no idea if they just automatically tie to your account or you have to "buy" them like you do on the PS3 with PS+.

Yea Im pretty close to buying one too, just a matter of time until a see a good deal. Cowboom had them for 120 bucks, but they were sorta banged up.

What im really interested in is if someone will ever hack the vitas software to work on any android device that is powerful enough. I dont know the chances of this happening, but I think it would be cool to play vita games on a nexus 7 device, or the note 2 or gs4 paired with a ps2 controller.

Last Friday I traded my 360 and all my games for a 500gb ps3, the last of us and a 3 month ps+ card. Had ps+ before so I started with
Just cause 2, infamous 2, little big planet 2, saints row 2, then I downloaded this month's games. I've got more games now then I did before on my Xbox.

I'm excited to see what ps+ pushes out for free over the next few months.

Play an hour of SR3 last night. Man, this game's crazy! I need to get used to the mechanics coming from GTA though. I don't really like the weapon selection system. Oh well.

It's way better than GTA, but I've been saying that since the first Saint's Row. I had already beat it but downloaded it to play again. You can get overwhelmed with how much you can do. Also took a few hours before I realized how big the map actually is.

I'm gonna buy the Last of us. I dont care about selling or trading in games, and would actually prefer to have it digitally.

I usually buy games a month or so after they come out, but since I want to buy a digital copy, should i just buy it @ 60 bucks right now - or do new-ish games ever go on sale in the psn store? Im sure in a month or two itll be on sale somewhere for 20-30 bucks, but it will be the physical version - and im not sure if gaikai will work with that in the future.
