People who really really hate 30 fps?

(Course it might be Frame Generation mostly to get to 60 and not native)
My launch PS5 box touts 8K on it.

And here we are, with a $700+ Pro that is needed to get 4k60.

LOL.

Also, wtf is this claim that PS4 has 8,500 games? There are nowhere NEAR 8,500 games on PS4 lol.

There definitely are if you include PS1, PS2 and PS3 games that are able to run on PS4 😀

Also, thank God for relatively long lasting console generations. I would've hated to have PS17 in 2024, with no backward compatibility!
If that is what they meant, then why say "PS4 games"? Why not say PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 games?

PS Store says 9956 Items. Course that probably includes the Easy Platinum games like Tomato Jumping or whatever it's called.
There's your answer. As far as Sony is concerned, PS1 to PS3 don't exist coz they are deprecated. So everything on PS store has to run on a PS4 minimum coz everything can't run on a PS5!

I thought $699 with drive would be the highest they would price it. Nov 7? Have some time to ponder it, I suppose.

Quick question. Can I use any optical drive or must it be a special PS5 drive I buy from them?
Gotta pay them $50 for their pos drive. Sony trying to fail harder than Concord with this bs. Knew Jim Ryan was going to wreck PlayStation the second I heard Michael Pachter cream himself to the hire.

EDIT: $80 ROFL

That's best case scenario. Won't necessarily be realized in most games. At best it might be 30% increase on average. It will probably take studios two years minimum to understand how to squeeze the best performance out of PS5 Pro's GPU.
This thing is going to fail so hard no one in their right mind is going to optimize for it. PS5 Pro is going to be the 2024 Atari Jaguar.

I'll probably get one because I like having the latest crap but I don't see any games with ray tracing keeping 4k 60 out the gate. There hasn't even been any titles pushing the regular console to the limits. Im also assuming you only need the stand if you want to display it vertically otherwise it can sit horizontal.

Even with a top of the line pc and a 4090 it's becoming more of a pain to maintain 4k60 without DLSS including ray tracing. It's all marketing speak.

I’ll probably buy one. Really not a lot of money for something that will get a thousand plus hours of use, and I don’t want to see 30fps again.

Guess I’m also in the minority with my launch Dualsense with 1000+ hours on it and no stick drift.

You guys know this is a luxury item right? And that they’re not discontinuing the OG PS5 at its original price point?
Umm...PS4 Pro was $399.

PS5 Pro should've been $600 WITH a disc drive. They are obviously trying to blunt the Concord loss.

Anyway, it's all moot. They may have to discount it heavily for the holiday season to move units.

You'd think with the huge price bump they might improve the cpu too so they wouldn't be so cpu bottlenecked in games like Dragon's Dogma 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy XVI, etc. I hope this thing is completely DOA at launch.

There's gonna be a lot of shouting going on at Sony HQ right about now.

Only 76k likes out of 2 million views!

I think they are hiding the dislikes number 😀
