Not sure what they are measuring but the switch seeing almost 100% attach rate vs ps5 is pretty telling about why people are buying the ps5. They are playing better versions of ps4 games or trying to resell them. Not much different from series x which might show even weaker sales numbers due to game pass.

It is Japan though.

But I have gotten consoles. Lots of them. Because I put in the work and know what to do. Look in this thread and the XSX one. My tips got 2 people the consoles they wanted after those people had failed prior.
 
For what it's worth I suggest following Wario64 on twitter. He's been putting up notifications before stock goes live.

Xbox was easy, I walked in to Walmart told them their app says they have stock and I asked nicely.

This varies though, my sister did the same thing for ps5 and they would not sell her one. Later the police was called because there was a few people there that knew about the stock and wanted one too.

She left and her friend stayed in the parking lot and noticed that after she had left a few people walked out with ps5's.

I've been trying to get one for her but haven't had any luck. I consider myself lucky I got one for myself.

The article mentions the first thing that came to mind for me... the sales are strictly for the PS5 version of the game, but you can just buy the PS4 version and use the upgrade. Although, the two games that this doesn't work for would be Demon's Souls and Godfall. Albeit, as noted in the article, digital could be a factor there too.
 
Not only people have a hard time getting the console, there aren't that many ps5 exclusive titles available. People can take a chance and buy the ps4 version of the game too. But also, I bet people are playing the ps4 titles they missed out on too if they didn't have a ps4. A good amount of those are free if you got a ps5 and psn plus.

If you get a 521 timeout error, THEN refresh it and wait again.

Well the good thing is they aren't shipping until after Xmas so you won't have to spend any money during the Xmas season on it!

Of course I go to use this trick to get my sister one and I forget my freaking walmart password LOL.

Oh well I guess her boyfriend can wait until after Christmas.
 
Wow, I was sitting there refreshing every second at 3 and 3:10 ... no button appeared, but one second the message said coming at 3, next second coming at 3:10 lol. Can’t believe you got one. I told myself to just hold off until next year since that’s when all the decent games are coming anyway but can’t help trying.

I got one at the 3:10. I went to the cart link, and it was there.

You should have waited because about 5 seconds after that happened, the add to cart button showed up.
 
The PS5 I ordered from Best Buy on Tuesday is now ready to be picked up. Had I been notified prior to leaving work I would have picked up today but I’ll just pick it up tomorrow.

The Xbox I ordered on Saturday from Gamestop was supposed to be here tomorrow but still hasn’t shipped. Should still get it by a Christmas.

Man it just keeps getting worse and worse for this game. I mean I'm lucky to have a pc that can run it somewhat alright. Im enjoying the game but I do feel disappointed in the lies that were sold. Not so much that I was hyped about this game but I was expecting something much better in the 8 years it's been in development. Just sad.
 
Almost makes you wonder how much of a 'rough draft' state the game was still in toward the end of 2019. I know a few people in game development who tell me that no matter how much time you sink into modern games there's always something more to do. Not something I'd want to pursue personally but many do; I remember someone telling me some years ago that, for a time, their daily work load consisted of trying to get 20-30+ hours worth of work done per 8-10 hour shifts... for WEEKS if not MONTHS on end, with very few breaks.

Before the launch of the game people were begging for a release date (and for it not to be delayed again) and then once it dropped everyone wanted an explanation almost immediately. Now, one could argue that CDPR could have acquired additional help but given the current state of the world (and the industry) that is most likely easier said than done. Also, this developer in particular just isn't the type that outsources development assets or cut corners--so things take a long time to complete. Yes, 8 years is awhile but for a smaller company but for this scale a project you really need to step back and look at what they DID accomplish. They'll continue to work on it as promised, and are doing what they can to make things right for those who just don't want to wait.

Lot of gamers all over the web are comparing CDPR to Ubisoft for some reason, which I don't understand. The latter has offices and satellite agencies all of the world and CDPR, to my knowledge, does not. Apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned.
