it ought to be there on your map if you are doing the Dark Brotherhood quests. Its opposite Leyawin, above fisherman's cove, IIRC.

How many Oblivion gates are there? I am starting to get annoyed with the quest "Aid for Bruma" since every city seems to complain about a portal and won't help until I close them. I think I did 4 last night.

you dont have to do all of them. In any case, this quest is optional. :p

How many of them do I do? I'm trying to complete as many quests as possible.

You mean I've been kicking daedric ass for nothing? :( Would one have been enough? I guess I should travel back to Bruma and ask.

I dont think you need to do even one. I ended up doing four or five.

Don't do the oblivion gates for quests, do them because you can get freakin awesome loot in each one. Just make sure you have tons of potions and arrows before entering one.

There are supposed to be 16 Gates, but you dont need to clear them all.
They do have lots of loot though.

In morrowind, you used to be able to delete spells by holding shift and left clicking it. Shame they got rid of that.
CRAP! I just thought of all the custom spells I made for short term use. Now I'm stuck with them in my book.

I don't need no stinkin' potions to clear them! I didn't use one yesterday. Those monsters I cannot kill by sneak attack I decimate by blade and block. :D

when i got the game i palyed every day for awhile. now its getting kind of boring and i haven't played it for a few days. every battle is pretty much the same. if i can't kill something by sneaking and shooting arrows i just block and swing - starting to get old.

i'm more of a warrior thief type character so my magic ability is extremely low.

Is the nocturnal shrine quest one that they tell us about eventually (Contract) ? or do we just go find it on our own?

That skeleton key sort of sounds like a cheat item that will make having a security skill pointless doesn't it?

i haven't failed picking a lock - yet [even the 5 tumbler 'hard' ones] and have many dozens of lockpicks . . . is that why my security level increases so slowly . . . you actually have to break lockpicks to increase it?
:Q

i'll try that . . . i only need a couple :p

and i am having trouble actually buying a house . . . in Skingard - after wasting tons of time with the Ork. i was told i need more "fame". :p

what's an easy "starter" house?
:D
{to store my extra 'junk' . . . will i actuall "need" a Staff of Dispel?}

Same here. Combat mechanics are improved from Morrowind, but it still turns into hack-hack-hack, which gets dull after a while.

I thought buying the house in bruma was pretty easy, and isn't THAT expensive I don't guess. You just have to sweet talk the countess. She even gives you a quest when you talk to her. It was 10,000 gold and I keep all my junk there. Got a goblin staff, warhammer of dispel, extra black hand robes (coolest clothes ever), etc etc. I only carry what I need so I am able to pick up as much loot as possible.

Is there reason to wait and buy a more expensive home than the $2000 waterfront property? I am a puny elf assasin and cannot carry much.. I need a place to leave my junk.

isn't the waterfront house just a small shack?
I wanted a house with at least 2 floors :)

I haven't seen any other houses for purchase yet, but I'd like to find a mansion once I save up enough gold.
