Okay... I have some questions... Knowing that I have never played Morrowind or anything like it before, hopefully I can get some advice...

1. When I'm going through crates, etc. and there is wool, folded cloth, etc... Should I be picking that up? can I use it for anything? I know I can't sell it because it's stolen... so what should I be using it for? I can't imagine they would put it in the game if it was useless...

2. How the heck does the speech system work? With the number in the middle and the different bars in that circle? am I supposed to get it as high as possible or what? I don't understand it... :(

3. When I become a murderer, and the guy comes to see me and puts a hit on the guy in the inn... How do I kill him without getting busted? Just whip out my sword and start slashing, or can I do other stuff?

So confused about 90% of this game... :(

Nope, don't bother picking them up. They're just filler items i think. As for them being stolen... they're only stolen if when you put your mouse on them, your cursor turns red (it means it belongs to somebody else). You can also tell stolen stuff because they're red in your inventory.

It's stupid. It's just better not to even bother. I think they had a great idea initially, but i don't think they really knew how to implement it without it being overpowering.

Can't help ya there. I'm playing good this time around.

Welcome to the club. I didn't play Morrowind, so i'm a complete noob too. The manual is a pretty decent size, but it's not very helpful. I may pick up a Prima guide tomorrow.

The circles are the "magnitude" that your attempt will change the disposition, but it's bs since the smallest "pies" can still do a lot. Every character has two quarters they will react positively to and two they'll get pissed at. Like the tutorial said, click on the quarters that they like when the pie is big in them. To know which, just probe them all on the first time around (smallest if you care). I hope that made sense... I've spent hours on it, got my speechcraft up a bit and it's not even a major skill.

Now to rant. I definately see where the "consolized" complaints are coming from for the interface (inventory, quests, map). Icons are bigger than they have to be(si hueg:)), the buy/sell is inconvenient (yes, i want to sell, geez~ too bad it didn't ask if I wanted to eat the friggen rare plant for a quest I accidentally clicked on). Also, the whole interface is definately designed for a controller pad (scrolling with stick/pad), and not optimized for mouse. Other than that, it's usable, just could be waybetter.

Does anyone else occassionally lock-up (complete system) when loading a saved game? Only happened twice just after starting the game up, quick loads and death loads while running go smoothly. Come on patch...

i can't put the game down.
i made a custom thief character and i pretty much have no trouble with anything. i think i'm like level 7 now.

my major gripe was not being able to sell stolen items, but once i joined the thief guild its not so bad. still is an annoyance to have to travel out of my way to go to a fence. glad we have fast travel.

i also run into a few bugs here and there. I dunno what to say about the AI. I was in a cave and there were 5 or 6 people standing in a circle. I snuck up and shot one with a bow. quickly changed to sword and shield to wait for the rest to come attack me. waited and nothing. they were all still standing there. ended up taking out the whole group with arrows and they didn't even notice a thing was up.

i wish you could fight while on a horse. having to dismount and draw your weapon sucks!

So what do you do to get people to like you? Bribe them? Using persuasion is a lot more cost effective, and it's not really that hard. Click the things the person doesn't like when the small pies are in that section, and the things the person likes when the big pies are there.

edit: BTW, does anyone know where I can either buy a lot of restore luck potions or ingredients to make them? I did a quest for some people that had a consequence of SEVERE damage to luck (50 baseline, down to 6). No warning that that would happen :(.

First being noise, I play the game late at night and my computer is against a wall with the neighbours. The other is that the 360 is connected to the 50" Sony HDTV in my basement room! :) Great game by the way, just getting started though.

wtf? your computer is THAT loud?!

Did they remove the ability to rotate the camera 360 degrees around the character and up and down like they had in morrowind?

I think in morrowind the player was able to press a key, and move the camera completely around the character -while continuing movement in any given direction... This is gone?

So far its cool but ive got a few questions...

1)how can i make it so it stays light outside? i cant see anything besides my sword when its dark.
2)how can i make it lighter INSIDE? I cant see that well when im inside at all...and brightness isnt what im looking for...its just not lighted lol.
3)Whats a good way to increase FPS outside? I have max settings with HDR at 1024x768, but i get low fps outside and especially when there are enemies.
4)are there any cheats to make my guy go faster? i could only get thru morrowing when i used the go faster cheat, its too slow without it (for me).

thanks...id appreciate tweaks/cheats/tips to make those better.

default is the middle mouse button for me. hold it down and then move the mouse.

I'm having a blast with it, losing waaaayyy too much productive time. Overall it is easily the best and most immersive RPG I have ever played. I did have to spend about three nights tweaking settings to get it to run smoothly at 1680 x 1050 on my X2 4400 w/6800GT :).

Steal something and go to jail for it, then go to sleep. When you wake up, you'll have a letter dropped off to you from Grey Fox, leader of the Thieves Guild

BTW, does anyone know how to fix enchanted items? My armor from the Dark Brotherhood needs to be repaired but my character can't do it.

Is there something in particular that neds to be done in order to level up (I mean besides increasing levels in class specific skills)?

Or with a little persuasion you can ask a begger and they will direct you to the right place.

And you can get your armor fixed at any armor or weapons shops i assume. As long as the shop keeper has an armorer skill.

Or you could do it yourself if you get your armorer skill up to journeyman.

alright i've played this for like alot of hours. i'm playing a high elf mage, born under the mage... and i hate it... T.T

it bother's me that all the spells look the same after a while. my crap flare spell from level 1 looks the same as a flame spear or whatever i'm using at level 7. i hate it that i can only get off like 3 shots before i need to pop a mana pot, cuz mana pots are dang expensive. i hate kiting mobs around to beat em, and summons are too weak to do much. i guess it just not my style of play ;<

i should have rolled a thief. how are they? i played one in tes3 and they were dang fun. or should i just go straight up warrior? anyone else hating a pure mage? thoughts? talk to me ;)

How did you manage that with a 6800GT???
