It's cool, dude. I never said I disagreed. I'm not even sure if the announcers were the ones calling Thornton Super Joe. I heard it somewhere and it stuck with me. No bid deal. 🙂

I just wanted you to be aware of it. People shamelessly borrow things every minute though, so its not a huge deal to me but it did raise a bit of a spark. In fact, I just shamelessly borrowed your sig 😀

Hey if you're going to borrow, borrow right. I only use one exclamation mark! 😉

You mean we aren't going to have wins of 8-2 and 7-1? Aww... 😉

Hmm.. I think I'll add my own variation of your sig as well 😛

Can't win 'em all, so I'll settle for any 4 of the 7. 😉

Every other Sen>every other Saber so we will have to wait and see if Miller can win it all for the Sabers or not.

Hey you gotta change your sig. They announced the 3 candidates for Hart. Thornton, Jagr, and Kipprusoff. Sorry dude!

He won't have to do it himself. Buffalo is as fast as Ottawa, has as high powered an offense as Ottawa, and has better penalty killing and power play units. If you think Ottawa's going to roll through Buffalo, you're going to be a little shocked.

Speaking of which, I see Thornton got some love from TSN. It's about time they agree with me on something. 😛

I am sure it won't be easy. The regular season was pretty even at 3-2-2 for Ottawa, but they heavily outscored Buffalo in every game they won. It should be a good series.

That's a pretty one sided set of candidates, if Thornton doesn't win I will be really surprised.

As much as I'd like Thornton to win, I have a feeling that the award will go to Jagr.

My second round predictions:
(I went 5/8 in teh first round: 4/4 East; 1/4 West)

Buf > Ott in 7
NJ > Car in 5
SJ > Edm in 7
Col > Ana in 6

Yes, Ottawa outscored Buffalo 21-5 in the first three games of the season. But, Buffalo wasn't exactly playoff material, with an 8-9 record following the third loss. 😛

Comparing regular season statistics in the playoffs are useless. I don?t think I have to remind a certain Ottawa fan what happened in the playoffs vs. a certain team they owned in the regular season. 😉

Glad to see I'm not crazy with the Super Joe thing, isn't copying the highest form of flattery 😉 😉.

Who is ready for the games tonight?! 😀 If the Duckies start Bryzgalov it will be a blowout! Also looking forward to the Buf game (since I'm in the upper/western NY area knowing what is happening in local sports is always a good icebreaker, oh yea ... and it will probably be a good game too 🙂)

It will be a blow out which way exactly?

I'm looking forward to the games for sure. I'm getting off work early so I can get some things done, and then get over to a Hockey bar I go to with some friends to watch the game. Got to get there a bit early because that bar will pack up fast.

GO AVS!!!!

The Avs will blow out the Ducks if they put the rookie in goal. He did well, very well actually, in the Calgary series. Calgary doesn't have the offensive power that the Avs have. The Avs have relied for most of the season with their goalie problems on their offense to win games. Now with a solid goaltender it will only be better.

The Ducks are pretty young and inexperienced, where as the Avs are more seasoned vets, who have made the playoffs every year since their move to Colorado. So I think the Ducks will be at a big disadvantage if they falter, because the Avs will use that as their moment to demoralize them.

I just remember in the last few games of the regular season the Avs played the Ducks and it went to OT, where the Avs were all collected and methodical where the Ducks were hasty and chaotic. Maybe that was just a one time thing, I don't know only the games will tell, that is just what I think will happen.

Thats what I thought you meant, but wanted to be sure 😀

Its funny because the Ducks best players, in my mind, were always Kariya and Salanne. We had both of them last season and neither of them played very well for us. Then we traded them back to the Ducks, and Salanne is having another good year. I guess they didn't want to play for the Avs.

We also have Kanawalchuk back in the lineup tonight, which will help. Too bad Svatos won't be back this post season, he would make a huge difference in the Avs offense.

Maybe it has something to do with having to play Ottawa 3 times. 😉

Yea it is good to have Konowalchuk back, although I'm sure there will be some "rust" to be worked off in the first game or two. It is good to have him back on the roster.

Svatos!!!! OOhhh man that guy is awesome. Wasn't he right up there with Ovechkin and Sid before he was injured? I loved watching him play, I am worried about his durabilty being his size in the NHL.

I do have to say that the youngins on the Ducks are awesome to watch as well. Perry behind the net, he is a freaking wizard with the puck! Getlaf can rip them from the blueline and Penner is bangin people around on the boards and infront of the net.

Can't wait for the game tonight!! 😀
