Ah i just was reading up on the re-alignment.

Seems like it'll be an interesting change.

With the Islanders and Carolina in the conference at least the Devils only have to be better than one decent team to make the playoffs.

(Sorry Sauron 😛 )

I'd probably call the Eastern ones Atlantic and Northern. Love the play every team twice change. Not sure I like the playoff system that much though.

Looks like every conference has good teams and bad teams.

Boston should have no problem claiming top spot in their conference for a while IMO.

East 2 looks like it will be Pits, Philly, NYR, and Washington for a few years straight.

Central will be tough with the addition of the Wild. Hawks and Wings should be locks for playoff spots with the other two spots switching between Wild, Preds, and Stars

West will be interesting. SJ and Canucks will be locks for a few years. Oilers are only going to get better but I wonder what the cap will do to their young core. Last spot might be revolving between the other 5 teams.

Could be, but it would make more sense to add 2 New Teams...although it might not make Business sense to do so.

This realignment seems alright.

Well the theory is that Phoenix is going to be headed East for next season (obviously not confirmed, but likely).

Two more teams will also more than likely be added at some point, likely when things are more economically stable down the road.

Kinda sucks for those conferences with 8 teams until then though.

I like the new alignment. Detroit was getting tired of spending half their season on the west coast.

Someone pointed out to me the other day that during the regular season last year, Boston only left their time zone twice. I was like WHAT? Travel was definetly lopsided.

The game last night between Pittsburgh and Boston disappointed me. The Pens had there chances but blow not 1 but 2 5 on 3 power plays in the second period. Tim Thomas is a beast. He made some awesome saves. Also at the end of the second period Jordan Staal getting the penalty and then Boston gets the goal to start the 3rd ugh.

And they were almost two minutes long each. I know Letang is a PP specialist but there's no excuse for them not to score with the other weapons they can roll out in those situations.

My new hate: James Neal. Cheapshotting bitch...

oh and that cheap shot that fleury took there was way more them from Boston. Boston MO is to run into gollies.

hurricanes keep trying not to suck so...thats...something. i guess.

re new conferences: i like the idea of seeing every team every year, i dont care one way or another about what teams are in the conference with carolina, but having tampa bay and the panthers in a division with northern teams is really, really odd.

Who the hell scores 2 goals in the last minute when they're down by 3? Just give up! And quit screwing with my fantasy team!

haha!

generally they give up at the end of the 2nd, if they make it that long. im not sure what to think of them trying til the end...the team doesnt have enough skill to win, imo. i wish theyd actually develop younger talent, maybe that can happen under the new guy.

maurice refused to do that. id be ok with them sucking if i knew that in 3 years they would have developed some picks and made good acquisitions. they should have started that 2 years ago when they sucked and just spent the time getting prepared to not suck.

that being said...its been obvious that kaberle hasnt been worth his contract to start the year and i cant imagine anyone would have wanted to take on that deal as bad as he has been. i do not, however, disagree with you entirely...bad mouthing the guy at this point isnt necessary, but at least he didnt bullshit around.
Rutherford flips Kaberle to Habs for Spacek?!?!?!? He must have pics of Gauthier banging some farm aminals.

Gomez & Kabs contracts = ~$10 mil this year. LMFAO!

Rather disappointed with how the Kings season is turning out. I had high hopes for this season. Simply frustrating watching how each game ends up. If the opposing team scores 2 goals, it's now almost a given that the Kings won't be making a come back.

Seriously considering saving my money when I head down to LA next month, and just watch a game I was planning to go to on TV.

Don't get me started. Murray needs to go NOW. At least they waived Moreau. That's a start.
