It's so funny how seriously we take our games against the Red Wings here in Nashville, probably due to the fact that there are so many auto manufacturing transplants here. Alice Cooper sang "School's Out" at intermission. Go Preds!

WEWT, PREDS FAIL!

/don't mind me, i'm just happy the Oilers won for once, & Dubnyk got a much-deserved shutout finally.

Wings win, Datsyuk back and scored, and thug Avery takes a stick in the face. All is right in the world.

Avery actually took 2 sticks in the face in the last 3 minutes of the game, resulting in 6 PIMs and a 44 second 5-3, and NYR still didn't score.

I can't take pleasure in that though, as much as I don't like Avery, it's just not right.

leavin for Montreal in the morning... ahooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Hockey Day in Canada in MONTREAL... bring it 🙂

can't wait for Leafs @ Habs... i'm GEEKED

Ouch - Ballard, Hamhuis, Edler, all out for the Canucks. It's going to be interesting to see how these call-ups are going to play.

Huge Huge game for NJ tonight. The playoffs are still such a long shot it's goofy to even fantasize about...

but if they can beat SJ, one of the best teams in the league right now, the dream becomes just slightly less laughable.

San Jose has a formidable group of forwards, and we have Hedberg in net 🙁

And it's the second of back to back games.
And Volchenkov is suspended.

Odds are not in our favor tonight.

Would be hilarious if we made the playoffs though. We'd be the Flyers of last year, clawing our way in after a terrible start. And we could face the Flyers in the first round again.

21-6 is our goal for the rest of the season now.

Come on Avs, lets break this 5 loss streak and get back in the playoff hunt tonight. We have won 7 in a row against Columbus and our offense seems to shine against the Jacks so we'll see.

Here's hoping Forsberg starts his first game with us and makes an impact

So what do you guys think of Matt Cooke only getting 4 games? Should he have gotten more? Someone needs to knock that punk out.

I hate that they have to play in Toronto and then in NJ the next night... although teams in the West have it much worse in terms of travel, so I guess you can't gripe too much.

Volchenkov hurts, but Fayne and Salmela have really stepped up their games recently. If Fraser can give us 7-8 minutes without screwing up, I think we'll be okay.

Cooke is pretty much in the Sean Avery club.

Anyway, WOW!!!!! can't believe the Devils won tonight!!!!! Another superb effort from Ilya Kovalchuk. That guy is a beast. He's carrying us into the playoffs on his shoulders. 11 points out now, I think we were like 27 points out in early January. Now it only gets harder though.

This team has to know how important Wednesday's game in Carolina is. If we win that game we're almost back in the playoff race. A loss might kill us.

Need the NYR-ATL game to not go to overtime.

Pens vs Islanders awesome game!!!

One good game means nothing. Once they start playing like that on a regular basis then I will worry less.

What it means to me is that they had it in them to play like that. I was starting to wonder. From what I've seen lately besides the lackadaisical play was a team that didn't know what their defensive responsibilities were and offensively acted like their teammates were strangers.

Oh NO! Howard gave up a rebound!!! Well, it wouldn't be such a big deal if everyone was covered. When it's one on the goalie right after he makes a save, he's out of position and it's pretty easy to score.

If I saw one more person gain the zone only try to pass the puck through a defenseman's legs without expending the effort to get it past the guy's legs I was going to scream.

EDIT: I just watched that video-->
