Oilers had a decent effort against the Wings tonight... some missed calls out there but at least consistent in the inconsistency... nice to see Cogliano get his first goal in an arena he has played in many times! 🙂

2-1 on the season after a respectable loss. Next up, the pesky Wild.

ugh... the Oilers are struggling to get decent scoring chances against the Wild... :/

who else is watching games tonight?! there are a ton!

Finally, that's done, 8-2 Loss. Embarrassing to say the least, wouldn't want to be inn the dressing room about now. 😀

Edmonton Oilers, how can they justify 9.7 million a year for horcoff/hemsky/pisano???
It's Pisani.

I don't know GM genius guy, why don't you try to develop a bonafide #1 centre (Horcoff) by drafting him out of the CCHA while waiting for your extremely talented Euro giveaway king (Hemsky) to peak. Then one of your best muckers and grinders (PisanI) is diagnosed with a disease that sidelines him indefinitely. Sounds like $9.7m for a kick in the nuts doesn't it?

It is justified by potential and hope for their development into the players they can be... and if for whatever reason it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. Maybe one bounce goes against someone that could have led to a goal, that could have led to increased confidence, that could have steamrolled into a fantastic breakout season. Sometimes you just don't get the bounces and you can't blame everything on the players. That's hockey.

They were looking pretty damn good right before some of those players got inked long term though. Came within 1 win of the Cup, remember? That might have *something* to do with it.

LOL I was pretty blotto when I wrote that... my real answer is because Lowe doesn't always make the best decisions... 🙂 Unfortunately he just got signed long-term too. I like the young guys he got though, I like the direction this year.

Anyhoo I only got to watch about 5 mins of that game last night... watched until the end of the first, had to leave for hockey and then saw the score was 5-2. Looks like Luongo had a good game.

Good game by the Senators tonight. Watched it on MSG#1. Offence did its job with 3 goals in 52 seconds and Gerber was unbelievable during a Rangers 5 on 3. When he threw the puck down to centre ice, I stood up and yelled "Hell yeah!" He was robbed of a shutout on an iffy Jagr goal (there was interference in my opinion) late in the third period.

Still, Darth Gerber rules!

Wishful thinking...

Gerber will remain here and we will trade Emery for

*Denis takes another puff. - Oh yeah, that's the goooood stuff!!*

Rick Nash and a first-round draft choice.
