Wow, I guess Smith earned his job back with those 2 TDs.

and quickly lost it and should be permanently for throwing up the ball for no apparently reason. hardly had anyone in his face to throw up a dead duck like that.

I mean worst case scenario check down and get closer to FG range to at least try.

Wait, he hardly had anyone in his face yet he got hit while he threw the ball? How does that even make sense?

lol exactly what I was thinking- he was hit as he threw- that's what caused the horrible throw...

sorry in real time it looked like the usual crap the Alexandra puts up.

Hard to tell when he throws up garbage and when he gets hit.

I'm not doubting you about him sucking, but on that play he was hit as he threw and that's why it was such a horrible throw.

I spent years hoping for Kyle Boller to finally turn it around, so I understand what 49er fans are going through. I still think it's pretty lame to boo your own team.

Where's Deeko when you need him. Waiting for him to tell me how horrible the Titans and Vince Young are and how great Dallas and Tony Romo is.

Check please..... :)

Its pretty funny how much you are a sad, bitter little person. I dare say that Vince Young is overrated, in like 2006, and you cry like a 5 year old girl for literally years about it.

Go ahead, be cocky though - Dallas had about 5345 yards of penalties today, and the Titans still barely won. A win is a win, but I wouldn't exactly call this one to be proud of. Dallas tried their best to hand that game to Tennessee, and they kept trying to give it back.

Between the Ravens and Jets, it is a close call. I laughed at Sanchez earlier in the year, but since they've opened up the playbook, he has impressed me. Flacco has more weapons but has lacked consistency. I think the Ravens are the better team, but not by much.

What's impressive about the Ravens is that their "D" is so good even if Flacco has a crappy/middling type of game (like today's) they can still win handily. Moreover their power running game is second to none, the way they went into Gillette stadium in last season's playoff's and completely dominated the Pats impressed the hell out of me and it looks to have continued into this season as well..

I'm telling you guys, keep an eye on the Giants. If they have truly fixed their defensive issues, you might see them go deep in the playoffs.

So we have the Bills, Niners, and Panthers all sitting at 0-5. Obviously, the Niners are the best of that bunch. I seriously think the Panthers are the worst team in the league. My God, they are awful.

Other observations:

--LOL @ the Chargers. I do hope this is the year they can't dig themselves out of the hole they've created, but I'm sure Norv will somehow manage to save his job. AJ Smith has to be the biggest idiot in the world for hiring him.
--LOL @ the Cowboys. Unfortunately, they're only 1 game back of first place in the NFC East. However, as with the Chargers, I would like to see them go down in flames just to hear Jerry's excuses and see the eternally etched "I'm a clueless dumbass and I don't know what just hit me" look on Wade's face for a few more weeks before Jerry inevitably is forced to can him. Fear not, faithful of the Blue Star -- Jason Garrett is the HC in waiting. LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
--Colts have been awful. Their offense has generally been impressive (except yesterday), but their defense seems to hit new lows nearly every week and that's saying something considering the history of the Colts D.
--Speaking of the AFC South, I think we're seeing the beginnings of another implosion by the Texans. I think the Colts and Titans will probably pass them and I would favor the Titans to win the AFC South at this point.
--WTF Packers?!?! Enough said.
--WTF Bengals?!?! How can you beat the Ravens but lose to the likes of the Browns and Bucs in successive weeks?
--The Chiefs are likely a better team than everyone thought, but they've got two tough games (Texans, Jags) in a row. That will tell us more about them.
--And on a closing note, I have to circle back and LOL at the Niners. Good Lord, this team is pathetic.

Until the giants can put up a defense offensive effort against a compotent defensive unit I give them a minimal chance.

WTF is wrong with the 49ers? They have a decent QB, a pretty good running game....a decent D....they should NOT be 0-5.

Did you catch this week's edition of my weekly feature "Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Mike Singletary..."?

If not, let me recap. At the beginning of the game, Andrea Kremer interviewed Mike and said "What did you tell your team they need to do tonight?"

Mike's response? "I told them to win. Just win." If that doesn't sound desperate and a bit clueless, I don't know what does. I like Singletary but I think he is in over his head. I bet he wishes he would've kept Martz around.

One phenomena that has always amazed me in the NFL is the phenomena of the head coach who can't win a game until rumors start swirling about his job being in jeopardy and then suddenly, the team starts winning. What's even worse is that the teams tend to keep these guys around for several years (I'm looking at you, Wayne Fontes and John Fox) and endure poor starts every year which inevitably cost them a playoff spot.

I think he meant to say "Until the Giants can put up a decent offensive effort against a competent defense."

ahh so much more clearer. regardless of that, the giants have a great chance to get into the playoffs. are there any dominant teams teams this year? there is so much more parity this year than in others. the bears and texans are two quality teams that they've beaten surehandedly so i don't know why they are treated like cellar dwellers.

they were ranked last in the espn power rankings amonst nfc east teams while dallas continues to get all the praise and glory up to this week.

49'ers had opportunities to win several games. Such costly turnovers~
Gore and that big turnover by Smith this week.
I feel bad for the coach.

Nope, there are no dominant teams this year. That's why it's awesome.
